He needs time to gel with the team and to understand just what TP wants from him. He's good enough, he just now needs a run in the team to prove it. In my opinion.

What is the point of letting him gel in the team when he will probably be off in 6 games time anyway. TP clearly puts a lot f emphasis on having a settled team.

Do we have a need for him ? or is he taking up a space in our squad ? A faintly amusing observation, coming from a Palace supporter. Ince was pretty much on a par with Zaha last year. Some thought he was better, some not as good but without splitting hairs they were the best two young players outside the Premiership. Wilf goes to Man Utd., sinks without trace, and it's the b****** Moyes' fault for not giving him a chance. Ince comes to Palace, sinks without trace, and it's "is he good enough for our squad?" Let's get real. About all the Ince/Zaha saga proves is just what a massive leap it is from the top of the Championship player pile to the bottom of the Premiership pile. Both Ince and Zaha will make it in the top flight. But it will take TIME (a commodity no one seems to have these days). The loan, though, has not worked out well for Ince. He gambled on making a massive impact immediately to ratchet up his value and come the summer he will now be signed by someone on the basis of being just another top young player with a good shot of making it, rather than a guaranteed, immediate impact superstar. I rather think these few weeks have been a sobering experience for him, and they've taken a few 0's of his next pay packet. I also think our chances of a permanent deal -- if we want to sign him -- are exponentially better than they were a few weeks ago. Ince has a lot to learn. Puncheon is doing a good job teaching him. Bang on mate. People over simplify and expect an impact from a 21 year old straight away. They're both on loan! They're lacking g the security of time and have limited experience. They may have struggled but I don't see that as a reason to right off the potential seen 12 months ago. Putting a positive spin on things, they've both moved on from being the 'big fish' of the Championship pond. It may not be obvious, but I bet they're both more developed players now for their respective experience in the Premiership. Physically, mentally and technically. I know it's a different position, but look at the s*** Jordan Henderson got when he joined Liverpool, and now look at the praise he gets now. He's grown into an integral part of a title-challenging team, but it's not happened over night. He's been reliant on a manager who's acted as a sponsor and ignored the short-term naive views of the fans. Look at the run Gareth Bale had when he joined Tottenham as a left back. Spurs didn't win in his first 24 games! Life ain't easy. They're enduring a test of character and the fact plan A hasn't worked out doesn't mean they're s***. Last night I listened to an interview with Steve Bruce (yeah, Judas!). He talked about how he and Peter Beardsley roamed the country, after leaving their boyhood club, getting rejected by all these clubs. Eventually Bruce got signed up by Gillingham, but Beardsley was rejected by Gillingham, Cambridge United, Burnley and Oxford, before finally Carlisle United committed to him. He then went on to become a legend of the game at Liverpool, Everton and a Newcastle side who had constantly rejected him as a teenager. Anyway, the point is, Ince and Zaha need time and a vote of confidence if they are to develop beyond the raw, unplayable dynamos of last season.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Tom Ince' by Hambo Well it's not what I was expecting from him. He was brilliant at west brom but since then he has goon missing in games and doesn't sit behind the ball like we do. This I believe has lead to the subsequent placement on the beach. Can't see him wanting to stay at the club weather we be in the premier league or championship. Its a shame really thought he was going to be excellent for us.

A real coup in January purely because of all the fuss and attention Liverpool had given him the window before. Can't help but think he is all just hot air and our money could have been better spent (or saved). He has ability but an awful long way to go. An awful long way! Needs to bulk up for starters!

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Tom Ince' by Hambo It's a big step up. We have better players ahead of him but with time he will/would adapt to the premier league Eventually. Can't see any big teams coming in for him and he won't be getting mega money next season like he probably thought he would. Wouldn't mind him staying but won't be that bothered if he goes.
