He's on 40 or 50k pw at united. No way we're going to match that. Great player for us and one of our own, but I can't see a return happening.

How did he play today ?

Not great... Beat Wardy a couple of times in the first half to get crosses in... But Cardiff were looking to get the ball to him a fair bit.. Went straight down the tunnel when he was subbed on the hour.. Unhappy I'd say and probably wondering why he left us! The 'old Wilfried Zaha, he wants to come home' chant was amusing and Palace sang Wilf songs after he went off...

I don't think he gives a flying f*** about Cardiff, why would he? Having said that he would have wanted a better game as he needs to prove Moyes wrong and/or put himself in the shop window a bit.

I didn't see it all, most of the first half, some of the second. He looked uncomfortable to me though.

He only left Palace for a chance at a bigger club, but the football genius that is Moyes let him down badly and he's ended up at a club a similar size as Palace. I'm sure he feels that if he was going to play in the prem for a struggling side he would of preferred it to be his home town team CPFC. He's only human and his confidence has been shot to bits this season as his World Cup bid crashed and burned. Wilf showed flashes, but Cardiff froze in their big game and appear to have no real unity under OGS, which is the exact opposite to under Malky.

I think Wilf really wanted to play for us today, not against us.

I'm pretty sure Ince is on 70k a week for us and is sitting on the bench...

I'd be surprised if Wilf could negotiate the same wages he's getting at the redbluebirds/manure from anywhere else with his relative lack of impact this season.

Would I have him back at Palace? In a heartbeat. He's still got it, and I want Palace to have it.

Ok but that 70k (if true, which I am dubious abou) only runs til the end of the season. In the grand scheme of things 4 months of 70k pw, something like a million in my maths dyslexic brain, is not that big a gamble. With no signing fee either. If we paid 5m for wilf and 50pw over 4 years, that is going to take a sizeable chunk out of the kitty, and it shd be 100% pulis who makes the decision. You have to remember wilf has never performed remotely as we all expected since his move to the prem. cd be a lot of reasons for that, but it must be taken into consideration.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love him to return and tear it up again, but it shd be a move decided on without sentimentality.

similar to my feelings.. he left expecting to go to a top 4 prem side and looked to break into their team.

Instead he was the forgotten man, stuck in a scrappy relegation battle in a side that doesn't look up for it.

I would feel.. i guess, embarrassed - almost like a step back.

He can still negotiate higher wages than he's on at Blackpool
