Wasn't it him who ducked out of a header, sending Di Canio into fits?

Could Paolo's legacy get any worse if they're deducted points months after his sacking?!

I'm sure this has happened before but cannot remember who, where, when and what the precedent was!

I think they should get a points deduction. Nothing ridiculous, as they've already been fined, but maybe three points or something. On current form, the only team this actually benefits is Fulham. Would be more awkward if they'd won the League Cup.

Happened to us a few years back - 1 pt deduction for fielding Rui Fonte against Sheff U in I think was a meaningless last game of the season.

That was one game and a point deducted, would love the FA to deduct them pts.

Beat me to it. The point made no difference whatsoever.

That'll be why the situation had a nagging familiarity to it!

didn't QPR getting threatened with something similar the year Warnock took them up? I remember they got off though

3rd part ownership issues over Faurlin, heavy fine I think they got in the end.

I think the Premier League will bottle any points deduction and just stick with a 'hefty' fine.

IIRC Wet Sham got 2(?)pts deducted AFTER the end of season and it had no bearing on final places. Ollie's Dad,Ash.

Just checked and I'm wrong. NO points deduction but £18m compensation to Sheff Utd! Ollie's Dad,Ash.

Unfortunately they only gained one point with him in the team, I imagine they will be deducted that point. Still, they don't have many points so they wont be happy to lose one.

They should forfit the money earned from their cup run too.

Yes but if you read the whole article it says they were fined "a substnatial amount under the radar" ie they have got away with it and the matters all over and done with. There will be no points deduction even though he played in one game in which they got a draw. Other leagues like the Championship - which is technically a different league and setup to the Premiership - take a different line and points get deducted if found guilty.

Just read bbc.co.uk and they've already paid it. Non story in the end.

Thought there must be a good reason no one else was reporting it. Perversely glad they haven't been deducted points. Sounds like an honest enough administrative slip up. Would feel very aggrieved if the boot was on the other foot and we were deducted points.

Agree with this; they had international clearance as their player, left on loan and returned. Wouldn't want to stay up just because of something like that.
