Although Jerome has done well and works his socks off he's not exactly a prolific goal scorer. I would keep FFS.send Jerome back sell WIlbraham and Jerome Thomas or maybe part company with one off academy strikers. I think he will bring in some foreign beanpole striker in the peter crouch mould and a winger to match Bolasie pace.

But don't you think TP will try to keep Jerome as he likes him, after all he had him at Stoke and seems high on the pecking list at SE25 even when cham is in the team.

Not sure why you are dismissing him so readily, fully understand its your opinion but surely we have to look at it from the point of view of the guy making the decisions ie TP, or maybe your thinking Stoke will take him back ? and as he is a out and out front man same as GM then ermmmmmmm, trouble is there is no room for sentiment in Football, cant really give people runs in teams to see if there good enough, every game is to important.

I think some tough decisions will have to be made this summer, Stoke not realsing Jerome would actually make things easier but I for one would def keep him even as a impact sub.

Personally, I just think that it's going to be due to fund available. If we get a small transfer budget (Presuming we survive) then we may not get Jerome and we won't have a choice but to keep what we have.

However, if Pulis gets given a decent sum of money to spend, surely it'd make sense to buy a striker who can actually score. No offense to Jerome and he played brilliantly yesterday, but I can't see the point spending 2,3,4m or whatever he will cost on him to bring permanently when he scored 1 goal all season. Murray is with us and is free; so he will stay and be used (whether as a regular or from the bench will depend on how he performs when given the chance), but I think if Pulis has the budget, he's going to set his sites on a different striker, not Jerome.

Why is everyone so keen on keeping Murray? He's getting older and will have a useful price-tag or at least a tempting swap potential for a younger proven goal scorer from another division. I like the look of McDonald at Leeds, especially as it looks as if Leeds may have sell to keep going. Murray may or may not score in the prem and every week of not scoring reduces his potential value. Why should Palace take such a chance? And if he scores a goal or two this season to help keep Palace up his value would soar. If Palace stay up there will be the need for a better striker with a proven record. That ain't cheap.

Yo to Yo

Your on the ball, yes i did forget to quote your quote originally but you guessed I was talking to you,

You talk sense but I think what I am trying to say is that TP although he inherited CJ he also likes the type of player he is as he brought him to Stoke and seems to fit his own personnel style and qualities he likes as a player and going back to the general theme of this thread if your saying he would rather keep GM as he is free BUT he also gets a decent budget to spend and he could buy CJ then I am sure he would otherwise it would stand to rights that he would get rid of GM too as he obvbiously prefers CJ to GM

You get me (bit of street talk there hehe)

So your the manager for next season we stay up £60 mill in the bank, most agree a striker is what is needed agreed so far ?

We need say 5 strikers for the squad, is FFS in your plans ? or do you sign CJ on a perm try to sign Ince on a perm ? keep Gayle and yes of course keep Cham,

I've had rows on here and with my fellow Palace comrades in person over this now we have had chance to see Glenn back in action.... Come on look at yourselves in the eye in the mirror before answering and tell me he would be in your plans for next season (in Prem).

Not for me, even if as people keep harping on about the service improving from the wings, (isn't that happening now) who would you drop to play him ? Cham ? CJ ? the new £12 mill signing we make this summer ?

Please give me your answers with your overall plan how you would use him, dont bother with FFS rose tinted glasses and say 30 goals last season or its glenn murray etc etc back your answers with logic.

Not in million years would i sign CJ on a permenent deal, Chamakh will be signed up plus we will have FFS and Gayle, the system we play (at the moment) we only use 1 Striker so we dont need 5! We need to sign someone like Rhodes, Ings etc and two wingers who can put the ball in the box ala Moses and Zaha, plus a centre half for cover.

I fully understand you wouldn't sign Jerome on a perm and many wouldn't, get that, but do you think TP will if he had the chance ? I think he might as he prefers him over Murray who was supposed to be the answer to all our scoring problems, John Terry has scored the same amount for us in the prem as him.. (I Jest)

And i meant of course forwards in the squad when i mentioned 5, not 5 centre forwards, ie Gayle could be bracketed as a forward but can play wide etc..

Do you mean Malcolm ? I saw him on holiday years ago and he could barely walk !! If you mean that lad McCormack you might wish to start a new thread on him as I'm sure there will be a few takers. Seriously though I don't think Jerome will be recruited in the summer as it is crystal clear we need somebody who can find the net.
