The only question to ask is 'is the referee cheating'? We all make mistakes, players, goalies, managers, even spectators. The only thing we should worry about is if someone is being disingenuous.

Was it against Sheffield Utd at home about 15 years ago when we scored at the death and it was disallowed because the ref had blown for time?

Referees and officials ruin matches on a weekly basis. The standard is appalling and it is now at the stage that I truly believe it is deliberate.

Oh goody......

Id happily pay to watch you do better

That is a little bit like me saying 'Dikgacoi is not the best passer' and you replying 'I'd like to see you do better.'

You do not have to be a professional to make an honest assessment of someone else.

Well I get paid to professionally assess Referee's, after 26 years refereeing to a very high standard.

All I said "id like to see you do better" If you think you can do better, become a ref

I remember watching Palace as a kid and I think this happened to us at home against Leeds in the FA cup.

The match ended 2-2 and we went on to lose a replay at Elland Road (I think). If I had to guess (can't be @rsed to look it up, I would say it was around 1997).

Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away.

I'm not bitter, but I believe we should check out his finances.

I guess you will always get incidents involving refs,I tend to go with the view that refs do not understand the game but know the laws.

Last night ,Michael Oliver who is in the top two or three refs awarded a yellow card to Fellaini for a dreadful foul that should have received a manslaughter charge.

Foy,Taylor and Atkinson are very inconsistent and Webb for some reason is highly rated.

The players are cheating all the time, wrestling obstruction and shirt pulling for example have become the norm.We need strong and decent refs to sort those problems out.

In life you have to earn respect, its not a god given right and refs would earn more respect if they showed more consistency and stopped pandering to 'name' players.Thankfully ferguson has retired so we no longer suffer the lick your arse Mr ferguson that blighted so many games.

Whilst I wont get involved in a meaningless discussion about the rights &/or wrongs of 'time keeping'......

In the 1st round of the 1978 world cup, welsh ref Clive Thomas famously denied Zico of Brasil a winning goal 'at the death' V's Sweden.

A corner was awarded to Brasil & as Zico rose to head the ball into the net, Mr Thomas blew for full time. As the Laws of the game state, a FULL 90 mins must be played, injury/extra/over time is ALWAYS a MINIMUM of time to be added on.

Is my memory playing tricks or do I recall the early days of Sky Sports used to summarise how many minutes the ball was actually in play? From memory it is/was typically around 60 minutes, so the idea that a referee can so precisely time the match to blow the whistle with the ball in flight is ludicrous. Rugby Union has it right - the match can only end when the ball is dead, and it can't be dead as a consequence of foul play.

Remember that Andy Roberts shot against Portsmouth (1995?!) that was flying into the top corner from 25 yards, when the ref blew for full-time?

Truly horrible!

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Not a chance you only get the job if you have never played the game at any sort of standard.
Most were Prefects at school or the ones who never got picked at PE who were seen running around the field in black plimsolls doing aeroplane impressions.

Like Dwight Gayle you mean.
