Considering form-wise we were the worst ever team to get promoted - we were very average from January to April 2013. Bottom eight of The Champ points wise - and we have stuck with, mostly, the same players who were playing so poorly, then it is nothing less than a minor miracle we are not already down. We deserve to stay up because of the effort put in which has been twice as much as some of those teams around us who, quality wise, should be twice as good as us. And we will.

As we have only scored 19 goals, it's nothing short of a teeny miracle that we have amassed 28 points & are still above the dotted line with 8 games left. Maybe we "deserve" a bit of credit for that small achievement alone.

OK, generally we haven't been great to watch. But in terms of adding to the league there is more to it. As has been said above, we are a club not just a team and our fan base have shown the way. I don't feel we have to add great football at the moment, that's the job of the up and coming teams like Southampton, Spurs and quite possibly Stoke. Our job is to get established. And at least, whilst we are doing it, we are surprising clean, not much clogging going on.

If we finish above the bottom three then we deserve to stay up if we finish in the bottom three then we don't, simple as that.

we are threatening Derby's record for the fewest away goals ever scored. And now two of our attacking players are injured while Murray is recuperating from a massive injury and never really proved himself in the premier league. So we really are not prem class at present.

Some great honest posts on here and defo gives a reality check. We certainly can't complain about the commitment of the players, bottom line is we haven't got many prem quality players and we've punched above our weight and I guess should just be happy that we've still got a chance of staying up with 8 games to go bearing in mind we were looking at 'beating' Derbys record lowest points total in October.TP deserves enormous credit. It may not be pretty sometimes but he's made us hard to beat and had the knowhow to improve this squad immensley if we can stay up. Probably not enough though and our lack of goals (and too many missed chances) could well seal our fate.

We should have been bottom all year given our squad and lack of preparidness for the season but the players have given everything despite results not going our way. Whether we stay up or go down I am not overly concerned - all I wanted at the start of the season was if we do go down then we go down fighting - we have and are doing just that. What would dissapoint is some of the games where our 'negativity' (Sunderland last week, Saints week before) could cost us, where a bit more adventure could have made that 1 point 6... Do we deserve to stay up - on effort and application, especially when you compare us to say Fulham - then yes - ultimatley though the final table will determine it

If you look at the championship there are lots of bigger clubs than Palace trying to get promoted ( Nottingham Forest, Leicester City, Leeds). We have over-achieved with a very average squad. Doesn't mean we can't stay up though with a bit of determination.

I can understand why other clubs will say that we don't deserve to stay up, but from our perspective we are just doing as best we can with the limited resources we have. We were playing catch up from the moment Philips fired us into the Premier League. There has been no level playing field, so we must do whatever it takes to stay up and if thats being 'ugly' so be it. The amount of crap I have read on here of late about Pulis is unbelievable. He is trying the almost impossible - something no other manager has ever achieved before at Palace with a squad that is largely not his. I am not sure what more he can do. This is not a time to experiment heavy and try and play attractively. If we stay up (and it is a big if), then we can build as a club and Pulis can sign his players and we can start the next season level with other similar teams. Then we can be judged. We are not there to be pretty and pleasing on the eye for the other 19 teams. We have earned the right to play with the big boys after last season's efforts. Fortunately there are other clubs in more dire straits than us, those that have experimented with more risque appointments than what our owners did. If we can just sneak over the line, it will be a magnificent achievement from all involved at CPFC. The lost point on Saturday was disappointing, but we must move onto the next one now - it's only Chelsea after all! I just hope we can get enough points in the bag now and if we do - then we bloody well deserved it!!

Not sure its far more important. If you dont score goals you'll never win a match.
