We need him back now

Bored of defending most of the game.

Yes, and we also need goals . I think you will find that JW's goal tally is zero in 53 league appearances for Palace and Ipswich. Bore off Maxi.

A few of you are going to look very silly in a year or so's time.

JW is a superb player in the making and will go on to be a regular with one of the top clubs here or in Europe. He needs only to play wekk in and week out and learn his craft and to avoid injury.

However, from an injury perspective he is NOT injury prone through a weak body - most of his injuries have come from being hacked down and any player would likely have fared as badly as he has.

Perhaps six months in the Championship next season and then back to us in January when his career will start to take off.

This kid is a golden nugget.

Arsenal have monitored him for years; had we not come up, Cardiff were waiting to pay whatever we wanted for him. He is a class player who needs time at this level which we have not given him.

My Welsh mate came back from a Wales game where he was running rings round top Serie A players. That he goes to Ipswich on loan and immediately gets MOTM comes as no suprise to me.

Hopefully, should we survive and when we are not entirely focussed on grinding out bare survival a player of his flare and ability will get his chance to shine. I just hope it's for us.

Absolute Tosh, How would you know Arsenal have monitored JW for years? If Cardiff were ready to pay whatever we wanted for him why didn't they put a bid in regardless of promotion, Answer because they didn't want him. The link was just put out there because he is Welsh. In truth JW just doesn't register on many other clubs radar, He doesn't play often enough and when he did created very little. As much as I want to see him do well he does not score goals and often runs sideways with the ball. He has good ball control but is not creative enough on a consistant basis. If he is the talent and Golden Nugget that some think he is why does he not get in the team when fit? Personally think we overrate players that come through the academy on the back of the few that have gone on to be successful with other clubs. What some on here said were Sure-fire superstars are not quite turning out that way sitting on the bench at other clubs.

This all day long, however I think Wilf, Clyne, Moses and Jonny will turn into special players. But I would say that if they were from Milw***s academy because I truly believe it. However some people expect youth to be promoted all the time and for every Zaha there is 10 Cadogans.

Lets get him back at Selhurst we nee all hands to the pump at Newcastle.

We don't need him for the rest of this season. Bannan can play the same role but doesn't get any game time.

Agreed...and we have Guedioura, who should be operating behind Murray or Jerome whilst Chamakh is out, and is much for of an attacking threat...likewise if Thomas got some consistent game time, we might see a regular supply of decent crosses for Murray/Gued to knock in

Would love to see Pulis start with a midfield/attack of

Bannan Ledley Jedinak Thomas

Guedioura

Murray

Which gives attacking options of Ince/Bolasie/Puncheon as back up....certainly think Ince might do better as an impact sub....haven't even mentioned Gayle, who surely would work well with Murray...In others words no real opportunities for JW here at the moment

TBF to silvertop its a widely known fact that Wenger has watched Jonniesta many times over the last 4plus years...my question would be if he's as great as Silvertop thinks he is then why didnt Wenger make an offer?

Honestly?? Bannan isnt a winger, best position in hole or a free role, Thomas over Puncheon, Bolaise and Ince is just wrong! Ledley at left back, Guedioura next to Jedi, strong enough to play the holding role and get forward, Bannan in behind Murray and Ince and Puncheon/Bolasie out wide. When Williams come back next season he will be in a free role or behind the striker.

Because he is not yet good enough for Arsenal. OK, an obvious point. Also, if he was of a standard, they would buy because of his potential. He not even that good. Agreed. However, my post did say that he still needs cultivating and Arsenal are happy to wait and see how we develop him to see if he hits that game-changing standard before pouncing. Clearly, theywould noit maintain an interest if they did ot think that was a potential; and Wenger has a proven good eye.

I also agree that our academy is not nearly as good as people think it is. We are so far short of Southampton, for instance, it is not true.

Pretty difficult to have an accurate view of how good our academy is unless you watch them regularly IMHO. Besides, what are people classing as "success"? A successful Crystal Palace academy is not the same as a successful Southampton academy or a successful Man U academy.

Top post. The only thing is that we may need to win games soon instead of just avoiding defeat and TP may need to think again
