Not sure why 23 year old Gayle is always classed as 'a youngster'.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Murray and Gayle!.' by staffie IMO Murray has to be first choice striker if fully fit,and now might be the time to pair him with Gayle, could work similar to Wright/Bright. Murray holds the ball up well and can feed Gayle in,also win flick on's,think this could be the start of a good partnership.Any thoughts?.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Murray and Gayle!.' by staffie I've always liked to think they could pair up well as you describe. It seems reasonable to suppose Olly did as well. In fact sometimes I could see it suddenly making the run-out a whole lot easier. About then I usually wonder if I shouldn't ease back on the gin :-)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Murray and Gayle!.' by staffie I don't think Gayle is anything like Wright. Gayle does nothing when he comes on the pitch but because he scored one cracker vs Villa he becomes a world beater.

Yeah I think Gayle and Murray could work really well. Remember posting it somewhere a long time ago. Murray's hold up ball and aerial ability to flick on to some pace with Gayle up top, the lad can finish too.

Definitely agree. Got the potential for a really good partnership. Gayle has done really well with what little opportunity he's been given so far.

As i've already said i believe Gayle and murray would compliment each other, but gayle as a 20 to 25 minute to go sub, with Murray using his quick thinking and delicate touch( no ones mentioned the touch to beat the keeper sat, most would of put it way past Vorn with no hope of getting to it FFS not only beat him but set himself up for the pen) fantastic touch. Anyway I would play Ince alongside FFS to start with basically in the same way as to a Gayle Murray partnership suggested before in this thread, with both bolasie and Punch out wide. I'd also play Ward alongside Jedi putting Mariappa at RB and Ledley at LB. Only play this at home to Southampton. Jedi and Ward to play slightly higher up pitch. Would like to see Palace take the game to them from the start, push the defensive line up 5 yards further than we usually play.
