Hip a hop,
hip a hop
A hippy hippy hop.

Why play him then?
Its not as if we are short in midfield.

He was great second half most of our attacks started from him breaking up the play and distributing it out wide. When he is not on the ball he also draws defenders out with little runs to create space for others. It don't matter how much you have with the ball as long as you do something with it which Ledley did. I think some people just want a scapegoat for the first half in response to the OP I didn't hear any of our players names being mentioned by the commentator in the first half. I thought Ledley was anonymous to but I've watched the game again and he was far from it.

Hoof Hearted 03 Mar 14 11.14am

EVERYONE had a bad 1st half yesterday.

Ledley played much better in the 2nd half in Parr's position and was one of the reasons we started to dominate.

I loved it when Ledley did the Cardiff Ayatollah thing to the Swans after the game......LOL

I agree with Hoof.

Had a decent 2nd half (of the 2nd half) at left back.

I think for the remainder of this season at least he could do a great job there

Nice ans solid and looked a lot more comfortable on the ball.

I don't really like playing 3 in the middle and I don't think KG helped him in there much.

He looks 5 yards off the pace but remember regardless of how big the team we was playing for the oppo were poor.

He will be fine

He's playing with an injury. Give him a break.

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Thoughts so far?

Personally i think he's been anonymous in the last two games. Completely and utterly anonymous. Don't think i heard the commentator say his name once.

Crazy to think he's playing over Bannan.

Thoughts?

Defensive Midfielder role, no glamour in that role. Its the Shaun Derry / KG position, you only get mentioned when something goes wrong. Everyone thinks you're dead weight when its going right.

Jamies right. You never make the headlines but his Performance in the first half led Swansea to only creating 2 chances for all there possession. Broke up a lot of play and played some tidy passes second half.

I think I need to see more of him in midfield to give an honest appraisal of ledley, although i'm starting to see him becoming a little anonymous alongside Jedi. I'm actually liking the left back role as he's been better in this position for us although I was 1 of the suprised to see him start here against West Brom. I think either play o'keefe alongside jedi or revert back to Ward playing there and mariappa at RB. I'm 1 of the ward play at right back brigade, but i'm starting to realise how much he offers the team defensively in midfield and offensively. That said is a little off topic, so Ledley will need to force himself into a match now to keep his place alongside Jedi. Not really a kg fan as doesn't offer up much in way of going forward. 2 in defensive midfield not 3, we dont break quick enough and that showed in the 1st half,

Umm except that the goal and the whole build up to the goal went straight down the middle and down KG's and Jedi's throat. As has been said, everyone was pretty shocking in the first half, but it just feels like KG, Jedi and Ledley can't all play together in the middle. There is minimal speed, passing and attacking threat there and it just allows to much pressure to build on us in the middle of the park.

I would really like to see jedi and Ledley next to each other and then Murray and Chamy in front of them.

Joe Ledley allows TP to switch the formation based on how the game is developing. He can play equally well as full back or defensive midfield AND he can score goals - 10 for Celtic last season. I don't think we have any other player that is as versatile.

Cardiff Ayatollah thing???

This was probably triggered by some stick he was taking from Swansea supporters. Not only did Ledley play for Cardiff, he supported them from the terraces and his family support Cardiff.
