Look at it the way it is in reality.

Yes we have won only two away games – versus Hull and Villa.

We lost away at Norwich and also WBA and Stoke but the last two were prior to TP’s arrival.

Therefore of the bottom half teams we have played five winning two and losing three.

We have away games against five bottom half teams to play. It is far from ridiculous to suggest that we can get at least two wins and possible two draws from these games. An absolute minimum of eight points.

We then have winnable home games against Villa and Southampton, the latter having little to play for.

I would also be surprised if we do not pull of a shock win against Man C, Chelsea or Liverpool at home.

As I said in a previous post IMO we will get at least 41 points.

Some great replies, you've all made some very interesting points, really appreciate your honest replies, one thing I will say though is I do believe Murray is a top goal scorer and although he may not have as much pace as other strikers do, If you put him in front of goal with the ball 9/10 times he will put it away, I think the main issue with Murray is his fitness now although I thought he did look quite sharp, I just hope he gets his goal scoring tally off to a start next week, COME IN THE PALACE !

It depends on the game. If we're playing Man United, the more effective approach was to let them dominate possession and stay resolutely organised. We did that in the first half and conceded no goals. We came out of the blocks in the second half and while it looks more ambitious, we conceded two goals. When we are playing weaker sides I would definitely advocate a more attacking method as we need the goals to keep us up. Could have been a valuable point yesterday though.

Sunderland and Newcastle away will be tough but we can probably afford to be a bit more ambitious there. West Ham, Cardiff, Fulham away - all games we can get points from IMO. For most of the home games we might be wiser to stay organised at the back and aim for a point.

Hopefully we can beat Saints or (and?) Villa.

Staying optimistic for now.

With the utmost respect, it is hugely optimistic to believe that we could beat any of these teams at 'Home'.
Call me overly pessimistic but I do fear that our lack of goalscoring will be our undoing this season.

When it comes to Palace the glass is empty, never mind half full with me. I also am worried, but we are nowhere near as bad as about five others in this division, but we just rarely get the luck. Take away everyone's bonus points and we would be well safe already, but we have only one bonus point against Everton to show for not being outplayed by any of the big boys. Bottle is gonna play as massive part in the run in.

I think Southampton and Villa are winnable at Selhurst, but the latter play well on the road.

Swansea, Sunderland, Cardiff and Fulham are the games we need to win. With a little luck, we could potentially take 8 points from the aforementioned four.

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!"

Fulham and Cardiff are goners imo. There is one relegation place left. Anyone of six teams can fill that place as they are all roughly of the same ability. That means we have a 6/1 chance of going down. The odds are in our favour. All the teams games are hard from now. Pressure.

We will not get relegated. But we must average around a point a game to do so. We will.

Don't think anyone is gone yet, these 2 are only 3/4 points of safety.
Great win for Norwich, can never rely on Spurs!

Yet again a relegation rival picks up bonus points against one of the big boys. Our inability to get some points in these games could be crucial.
Can someone with a lot of time on their hands come up with a table without the bonus points? Would be interesting to see.

And Norwich recently drew 0-0 at home to Man City. Can you see us getting a point against them ????. I think Norwich will escape relegation.

Last time we went down we beat Liverpool and drew with Arsenal and Man U at home. I was disappointed by yesterdays performance, attack wise. Against top teams i think we need a slightly different approach than playing teams around us
