Really sh1t weather usually means a draw in a lot of games played in atrocious conditions.

Bring it on. Wetter and windier the better.

Wet pitch = bypass midfield and play 5 at the back, 5 at the front. Midfielders are only there to watch the ball fly over them and make comments such as "wow, that was high".

live about 60 miles from liverpool and wind really picking up from 2pm to 9 tonight. So kick with the wind behind first half and wind gone when second half starts.

There is some real tactical acumen on this board :-)

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Was it the Yeovil keeper at the weekend who hoofed the ball out only for it to get blown all the way back to the edge of his area leading to the concession of a goal?

If so, my tactics for Palace tonight:

1) Don't do that
2) Wait on the edge of the box in case Everton do that.

Bosh, this management lark is easy.

Although no one seems to have considered the wind might not blow from goal to goal and instead could blow from touchline to touchline....

Could be a case of fielding all our left sided players in the first half and replacing them with right sided players for the second half.

As long as the CPFC fans are singing into the wind and are picked up loudly across the stadium it'll all be good.

Good thinking. Will the goalies be forced to play near the touchline too by the wind aswell as the other 20 players?

If 'yes' we will have to shoot towards our own goal so that the gusts blow it down the other end and into the empty net.

Knowing TP this will be a tactical genius move.

We had a similar thread on Saturday about that game with absolutely no chance of the game being called off.
Its rare that games are called off these days so lets not get carried away.[/

90+mph winds and a red weather warning so its not getting carried away. The chance of flying debris is high in a built up area like goodison park so has to be taken into consideration.

Stop having a hissy, its a bit of wind, Red warning is so the media can w*** themselves silly that they have s*** the life out of the public. As for fling debris? no such thing on Merseyside, if its not nailed down it gets nicked/eaten or sold for scrap.

Red warning means 'take action' as it signifies a danger to life.

Another drama queen. Danger to life has been said every day on the news with regards to the floods. Same could be said if you put more than 2 inches of water in the bath, you could fall, hit your head on the taps and drown in the water. Perhaps I need to put a red warning on my bathroom door, and not just when its time of the month.

I would say yes although I haven't considered the physics too much. I think we should ignore what is usually taken for granted about a football pitch and play it like a golf course. Play everything off course and allow the wind/slope of the pitch to take it back on course. Puncheon did it the other week from the penalty spot but the wind let him down at the vital moment. The papers were printing all sorts of stories about how Mother Nature was a really bad transfer window acquisition, but I think they were being a bit harsh.
