I'm looking forward to Ledley taking KG's place and Parr going left-back.

Very simple Ledley, by far the best option, love to know the rational about playing him left back Quote YoDougie at 09 Feb 2014 12.58pm
So, the one player that there is always disagreements about. Constantly left out when people select their own teams before matches and an ongoing debate about whether he contributes enough or should be replaced with Bannan/O'Keefe/Guediora etc. I'm unsure to be honest. He didn't look fantastic in yesterdays game, but didn't stand out being particularly terrible either. I do prefer O'Keefe and think it's a shame he's been dropped recently. What do you think?

The thing I don't like about KG is that rarely ever pushes forward this can be seen in almost every game especially against the more decent teams, we need goals from midfield and Ledley is what Crystal Palace have been crying out for all this time, a midfielder who can defend and intercept as well as make things happen in attack such as scoring, look at his record at Celtic- that is a goalscorer, play him in his natural position and he'll deliver some much needed goals from our midfield. The Ledley and Jedi partnership sounds like the perfect defensive midfield duo.

I agree that he does a lot of the dirty work, and I also rate him. He's never going to set the world on fire, but I do think we look more solid when he's alongside Jedi, than not. I think he's Jedi's preferred partner, as they seem to have a good understanding, one dropping deep / covering the other if one ventures forward a bit. Both very solid in protecting the back four. If he is to be replaced, then I think it will be next season as we become a bit more progressive. At the moment the game plan is a solid back line / centre line, with pace on the counter. That means 2 defensive midfielders. Next season my see Ledley in a slightly more central midfield position, with Jedi the lone defensive midfielder. At the moment it's working more often than not with KG / Jedi, so if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it !

He does the simple stuff well but doesn't pull down too many trees which is why we don't really notice him. On the other hand Jedi does the difficult stuff mostly well but occasionally doesn't do the simple stuff well and this why they probably fit together so well, mostly.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

I just arrived at my hotel in Joburg and went straight to the bar to watch the footy. Having a good chat with the local barman and when I said I support Palace he asks "how's our boy Dikgacoi getting on". I gave my honest opinion and now he barely looks me in the eye. Pretty sure he's going to spit in my food, if not worse. Really don't rate him and never have. Given results, obviously Pulis is getting things right overall but I'm shocked that manager after manager continue to play him. For me, he's a very limited footballer who I agree does dirty work, but offers very little else. I think Ledley will end up in that position with Parr at left back at least until end of the season.

3 consecutive managers have rated him as first choice when fit.

TP will always pick KG over SOK. He is a big unit who can win headers etc.. SOK looks a little light weight despite huge spirit. KG and Jedi both went to sleep on the WBA goal. Poor concentration.
