I'd rather have a guy in charge who's good at his job than some incompetent halfwit who 'loves' the club. Get a grip, something special is happening, enjoy it!
It's just that it is obvious Mourinho is a fan of the club he manages and so is Lennon at Celtic and one or two others. Hopefully we can weave our magic on that Pulis fella as we are, if not a very successful club, a very passionate one. And it has been for all the years I can remember. Even during the 5,000 crowd days of the mid-eighties.

Let's also not forget that the last manager we had who 'loved' the club was out the door the minute someone offering more money came knocking. And who is now taking Bolton Wanderers precisely nowhere.

Are we talking about the same manager who does not sit down for 90 minuets and then loves seeing us score? So what he does speak with passion after a match. Edited by sac (09 Feb 2014 12.43am)

TP comes over as a very straightforward and honest guy. Doesn't get too emotional or carried away and keeps reminding us we have tough games ahead. Very professional, very experienced. Great to see the new additions starting so well today and with Murray back, it should give us the attacking options and firepower we need to give us a really good shot at survival. Fantastic result today but the table is so tight anyone in the lower half can still drop into the mire in a heartbeat.

Never saw him appear to love Stoke either. He's just that kind of bloke, straight up more than emotional.

He's been here a matter of weeks. If he was professing to love the club it would be a bit phoney and suspect - as far as I'm concerned his straightforwardness is welcome.

Pulis has little time for telling the media what he thinks. When he mentions Stoke it is often a question by the media that relates to stoke. But straight after he always says my job is to focus on the job in hand and that is to keep palace n the premier league.

Lighten up.
It just feels very strange after so many years to finally get a fvcking good manager in the top league but at the same time having to realise that he will always care more about Stoke than he will about us. Edited by Kermit8 (09 Feb 2014 12.21am) course he would he spent 10 years there! if he spends ten years with palace and keeps us in the prem for a good number of years he will palace just as much as stoke! enjoy the win ffs... literally

I didn't see his post match conference but it's funny because tonight I was thinking he may well become one of my favourite ever Palace managers. I know we usually do our best to f*** it up but I just have this feeling us and TP are well matched. Both have that underdog spirit. I love his little Coppellesque run down the touchline. It may not be as enjoyable as the good fisting that Dowie used to give us. but he does seem very genuine and humble. I saw Mourinho talking to Lineker on MOTD and he's still a bit of a smug t*** whose laconic act is way past its sell by date. The deathly Pellegrini lacks passion (and a few pints of blood by the looks of him), Paul Lambert I can never understand a word he says.... the list of Premier Managers I'm glad we haven't got is quite long. But Pulis - he'll do just fine for me and given time I think he may just requite our love.
You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name. |

Could well become the most succesful manager ever at Palace. The perfect fit and no stupid sound bites or comedic statements. He knows how damn hard his job is this season and is purely focused on the next game, never getting up when we win or down when we lose. This will get through to the players and from five last night they will have all been focused on the Everton game. Perfect. Not surprised he has fondness for Stoke where he did an exceptional job over many, many years. However, the longer he is with us the Stoke memories will fade and he will feel more and more part of this club. TP is a top, top manager and I am delighted he is ours. Also really important to remember that we have 4 owners who are Palace fans.
