The only bubbles those mockneys see are in the bath.

Had a reputation once but now just Burberry clad muppets.

I wouldn't be bothered if the drum was dropped and broke, never to be replaced. What that thing achieved isn't required anymore and all it really does now is drown out a lot of songs from elsewhere.

There were times early on at &rsenal when people got songs going that could've had the whole end singing but because of the drum and songs only allowed to start from that corner because of it, everyone had to wait for them to exhaust the bouncing up and down to the beat of the drum.

"To the beat of the drum, bang, To the beat of the drum, bang, bang, bang."

Hated hearing it on the TV at Blackburn, have got used to it mostly, only it does still irritate in parts.

Totally agree Rudi. At Arsenal it became a them and us at times, HF were singing one thing the other 3400 fans something else. I like the HF but the drum was banging constantly and not always in time with the masses.

The drum helps to coordinate us all, if people are wise enough to follow it.

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

- John Bostock (Nov 2007)

Every football clubs fans believe they are the best supporters in the world. We're all going to be bias but it's fair to say our fans are enjoying the Premiership experience and many are keen to make some noise while we're here (literally)!
Palace have in my opinion always had great support especially away from home. We have that siege mentality, us against the world. But that is ALL Palace fans, not just the HF, Ultras, whatever who work hard to add to the Palace noise and atmosphere but are just a faction of our support. This is probably why some fans of other like ( West Ham amongst them) are showing I'll concealed jealousy at the moment.
Many clubs have had their day in terms of reputation for vocal and passionate support. Our time is right now. We're leading the way with songs that people copy, etc. The only club I've ever been impressed with every time I've seen them play against us both home and away (and there's been a few times) is Pompy. Nobody really has a problem with their bell, so what's wrong with a drum?
It's great to be a Palace fan right now. Be great to put the icing on the cake and stay up though. So we can annoy other teams fans all over again. Not West Ham though as they'll be in the Championship!

Did he now! I arranged an office Christmas do there once, in about 1982 or so. Just as well I paid the bill!
