I too was sat in the dead-end with the dead-heads and it was dreadful. I'd had a fair few in the Arsenal Tavern before hand and was almost in a coma in the second half given the appalling state of support from the Arsenal fans. Upon hearing the win f*** all song, one wag mentioned that Palace fans were just pleased to be having a day-out at the Emirates. Truth being we were the best that have been there for a while. They could learn a lot from our support. Even my too cool for school friend (Arsenal)who thinks we are all geeks, thought so. Keep your shiny stadiums and your £zillion teams. I hope we never change.

This is a genuine text I got from an A*se supporting mate who was at the game yesterday: "Can you tell your fans to shut up please, they're p*ssing me off now - it's too loud! We are not used to singing here" Says it all really. Cheers for the post LeicesterBee. Living in West London I know a few Brentford fans and I used to study at the TVU campus close to Griffin Park. Always have time for the genuine supporters of proper clubs instead of the multitude of plastic Chelsea & Arsenal "fans" which infest the place round here. Good luck for the rest of the season.

I think the drum really helps - I really like he when he gets a bit of a samba rhythm going... Hahaaa! I thought the same! Was really getting into it when there was a corner and he put in some extra samba beats..... If that lad carries on with his great drum lively rhythms, he may get a late call up to the England band for Brazil I hope! SIGN HIM UP ENGLAND BAND! Anyone know his name? Please tell him to keep up that varied drum beat, especially the samba one as kookiecookie said (much better than the turgid brass band we have had over the years).....As you can see, I can't wait for the World Cup - Brazil will be so full of life, music and football passion in the Summer. Oh and cheers for the top comments! Barnet were me 2nd teams because of Dougie and our first ever match at Barnet FC was against us, but will have a soft spot for the other Bees now; Brentford. When we were in our darkest administration times, discussion came up about what we'd do if Palace ceased to exist after over 50 years supporting them. While the initial reaction was - end of football as we know it - we'd just walk away etc. a number said that if we did ever consider supporting a team again, it would have to be Brentford as they were one of the few 'proper' clubs left in London. So thanks for your comments!

Good day to you all. I happened to be offered free tickets to the Arsenal game yesterday and just wanted to offer some views for your entertainment..... Firstly, forget the game. Palace huffed and puffed, but it was unlikely you were going to win. Cameron Jerome might run around alot, but I don't think he's exactly the best striker in the world. But hey-ho, I'm delighted to see you guys scrap in the Premier League against these big clubs. So, the reason I am here? Well, the atmopshere you guys generated was, frankly, fantastic. All credit to the fans who made some noise, because if you guys hadn't, I think I would have nodded off. As a Brentford fan, I am used to seeing fans get behind the team, suffer the grave disappointments, yet still scream and shout in support of the team. WTF? These sad kunts at Arsenal have no idea what football really is, and their contempt for smaller clubs is exasperating. The comment that simply did my nut in was the "why are they singing, why don't they just watch the game?" OH.......MY........GOD, WHERE DO I SLIT MY WRISTS? So, as far as I give one, if these so-called big clubs have fans like that, why don't they feck off to a European Super League and let the real teams, real fans, etc, battle it out? English football deserves better than this breed of fan. Anyway, got that off my chest......on here, on the Brentford forums, and on my Facebook. Congrats for being proper football fans who get behind their team. I was really impressed, even if you do need a drum!!! I'll stop letting it eat me up now, and despite not having much affinity for Palace before, I'll certainly raise my glass to you and wish you the very best for the future. Best ones from Brentford

Had an argument on the train back with some Gooners about what they actually find enjoyable about the "we've got more money than you league" which Man City and PSG have gatecrashed now. They genuinely failed to understand why I said I preferred a relegation scrap any time to what's going on at their end. And good luck Leicesterbee. I've backed you lot to win Div 1 before the season started (together with scunthorpe to win Div 2 and Torquay to get relegated). 1,059-1 treble if it comes in.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

What does irritate me about them is the fact they think have got some god given right to be the top dog in the Premiership. Perhaps this might be their year, but if they do crash and burn going down the final furlong i for one will be over the moon, again.....

Thanks for the support of our support! Always liked Brentford and have seen many a game there. I was give a free season ticket in the days when Martin Lange was your chairman and went along when Palace were playing away. I lived in Chiswick at the time so it was very local. I was running the football insurances for a company called S.W. Taylor who, at the time, insured all the English players and some ninety percent of the grounds. You had a fire in the main stand which damaged about five percent of the wooden seating. I argued the case with the then underwriter, relating to a specific clause in the contract, that the entire stand needed to be rebuilt and paid for by insurers. Even my chairman thought I had zero chance of success but Brentford ended up with a payout of over GBP1,000,000 compared to the actual GBP10,000 or so damage caused - hence the free ticket! i genuinely hope Brentford go up this season as you have been in the lower leagues far too long.
