Makes absolute sense to loan out players that are unlikely to play. As long as there is a clause to bring them back if we need them and that they do not go to Millwall,Charlton,Bolton to help in their relegation battle.

All credit to TP for making us a team who probably will stay up, but a big shame that JW and BB is not first-teamers.

Are Blackburn that desperate to play in League One?

Idiot, show some respect for a loyal Palace player coming back from a serious injury.

If we were established in the Prem I could see a benefit to loaning Williams, but as he's not even going to take up a valuable squad place surely we're better to keep him as an option? Look at what's happened to the Arsenal midfield. A bulk of midfielders can get injured at any point.

Bannan seems a shame but I don't think anyone's too surprised.

Williams as a 20 year old is not in the 25 man squad, and it would be an advantage to him to be loaned out to one of the better Championship teams, so he can gain some very useful game time and experience, and as it only a short loan he can be recalled if needed.

Bannan is also not a problem, he can be named in the squad of 25, sent out on loan for the same reasons as Williams, he can be recalled also if needed, and so long as he's named in the 25 man squad before being loaned out can go back into the 25 man squad.

So win, win, all round, the players will be getting game time which they most likely won't at the moment, and will still be available if we suddenly get a lot of injuries.

Agree. Good post. Would want to retain both of these talented players despite our signings.

We love you,we love you,we love you and where you play we follow,we follow,we follow, cos we support the Palace, the Palace, the Palace and thats the way we like it,we like,we like it...WOAH,WOAH,WOAH!!!

A winner is a dreamer who never gives up...

He is lower championship/League 1 at best.
Just because he used to be captain and had been out for what seems like years doesn't change the fact he ain't good enough for us.

WIlliams would suit a passing team like Notts Forest.

Wouldn't send him to QPAr*e

Er....shut up.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

He has been paid wages for the last 2 years. Loyalty shows both ways. If a better offer came in he would be off no doubt so all the loyalty stuff is bollocks and to be fair for the standard of player that McCarthy is Cucking is 100% correct.

I would be disappointed if we loaned Bannan, he always looks decent when he plays, he is no winger, but coming on to try and change a game - perhaps replacing one of the holding midfielders, he could be very effective.

I think its probably a good decision to loan Williams, he needs game time, and if Pulis doesnt think he will be getting it at Palace then its for the best. That said, because of his age and the fact that he is homegrown he doesnt have to be in the 25, he can still be played, so its also worth retaining him because he adds to the squad without taking up a space like Bannan would.

Its a difficult decision between the two

Although every manager during his time at Palace has not agreed with your viewpoint on this. Got to be a reason. For me, that's because the team plays better when he plays, even though he isn't a great player.
