On that second goal, would have Jules done better simply to have stuck out his left leg? It would have been untidy, but it might have sent the ball spinning out for a corner.

Re the first goal, sky suggested he might have gone down too soon?
Is that the case? Or did he have little option?

Can any goalie clarifiy?

Have to admit it I was on Charltons books as a keeper when I was younger, didn't cut it because truth is I just didn't grow tall enough. The first goal Jules had no chance, OC went to shoot low and Jules went down to save it however OC had disguised his touch and chipped it over Jules. The second goal you could argue maybe. However it was a low and hard shot Jules was completely exposed so he done well in my opinion to even get a hand to it, but he felt he should of done better so maybe he could of. But you cannot really blame Jules, Ward was at fault for both goals however because people don't want to criticise Ward because he is super man, they need a different scapegoat for the goals IE Jules.

Thanks for that insight - and sorry to hear you didn't get your chance at the big time.

Whilst I agree about the height etc of Hennessey and I fully expect him to replace Jules sooner, rather than later, it was a hard shot along the ground and actually more suited to a smaller keeper as getting to the ground is easier. I think Speroni will be unhappy he didn't keep it out.

Not as unhappy as I am!

You must have misread, he said he was on Charlton's books.

No reason to blame JS for the goals. OC was alone on both occasions. But Chamach ballwatching for the first one and Bolassie seems to have no idea where to position himself. Surely he must have some defensive tasks as well? Would like to see Ince and Puncheon on the wings against WBA, and Ledley on for KD (who played remarkably well after such a long lay-off).

I think you may be right i hope not as Jules is a fine keeper and has made very few mistakes.

Defending 100% to blame for both goals surely.

I would say the tactics were to gamble on defending very deep, not conceding and it didn't work out. Speroni was going to be very busy as a result.

I think we showed Arsenal just that little bit too much respect at the end of the day.

Or an outstanding team on the top of their form playing at home?

Agree, although the way we are banking on staying up is by keeping a tight ship and hoping we just drift across the line and if we play this way when we do let in a goal you've got to check where the leak is, Ward was at fault, but it was easy to make a mistake against such a good side, and Speroni played well.

The great thing is, I was very disappointed we didn't get at least a point, under IH I would have been pleased to only concede two away from home. Everyone is talking about Palace, a lot of Arse fans said how impressed they were today - super proud of the team and Pulis has already done 75% of the job he needed to - give us structure and belief!

Apologies for being superstitious, but I'm a bit worried about Jules in yellow.

Grey and yellow seem to be his unlucky colours.

Hope he reverts to green for the rest of the season.

Or perhaps he could try red a few times.
