I agree only on the basis glen murray is back sunday and firing instantly.

But hes not and he wont.

so I know we need a strong striker at least.

Put like that I can see why the Palace management are keen to keep the fans on tenderhooks. Will they, wont they, should we, can we? How about, no we shouldn't unless we know there is someone out there who do exactly the job required, be available at the price we can afford, fit into our team and is he stop-gap. Or should we be seen to be doing summat? The latter I fear.

Hey man, im not saying we have to do anything.

im just a fan.

But IMO if we do not sign a striker of some merit, and lets say chamakh gets injured saturday, i predict relegation.

harsh and doubtul, but if chamakh ever gets a bad injury or 3 mathc suspension or anything that'll take him out of the first team for some time, we'll struggle terribly.

up front only chamakh has proved he can cut it, even though he hasnt been free scoring he has proved hes a good sheringham kind of player and without him id fear we'd be worse off.

I dont know who and it looks like whoever its gonna be, it'll be a foreigner (from all the latest links)

Or the stoke lad whos not that bad IMO.

All well and good if they hit the ground running and are better than what they already have.

The two Hull lads the other night were not that clever.

15 Games to go 3 teams go down either way.

We need a striker who scores goals.

Tom Ince is a good player (although he didn't look like much against us last season) and lots of clubs want him so surely he must have something about him - but whos gonna score the goals ?

Can we please get Jordan Rhodes ? Get him in and I think 14th will be where we will stay !

If there was no transfer window, and everyone was sure to be fit until the summer, then sure, we probably wouldn't need anyone; we are just about averaging out above the bottom three.

But that's not the reality of the situation. Others around us are strengthening, and we don't know what injuries lay around the corner. Some of our rival's signings might make an impact, some might not, but we can't afford not to add some quality or depth to the squad if the right sorts of players are available and at a price we can afford.

The balance at the bottom shifts all the time, but during this window is an opportunity for teams to rescue their season an define where they finish; we can't afford to ignore that. We don't have to spend big, or bring in a lot of players, but it would be foolish to not at least try and get some names in. Things are heating up all over the place now, so tomorrow should be fun!

I think we need some depth at central midfield as well as a free kick specialist.

We need to do much better on restarters and we dont have anyone now who opposing keepers fear.

I'm pretty sure the people saying we don't need to get anyone in don't go to any games

Ince, Ledley and Ramis would have been a very good window for us and would give the 25 a good balance.

I'm one of those that doesn't see the point in another keeper.

I would love to see a free-scoring, strong, skilful target man arrive, but I can't see Negredo moving tbh. Sadly there's such a premium on even the most average of options that I don't see it happening. $7m for each of Jelavic and Long: would have broken our record outlay for both, and between them they've scored two-fifths of bugger all in the last year.
