Lots of pie eyed palace fans on here. The first Shane Long incident was a definite pen! Gabbidon clattered into the back of him nowhere near the ball. Lucky to get away with that. Rest of his decisions were pretty accurate though.

He made a couple of decisions that were really strange, but agree he got the big decisions right. never a penalty in a million years and the lunatic keeper sealed his own fate.

At first it did look like a penalty which shows Shane Long being 'clever' and could have resulted in putting his side a goal up. Unfortunately for him, the tv slo-mo replays show him getting infront of Gabbidon, falling across the defender whilst leaving a trailing leg to appear contact has been made. Absolute correct decision and for that the ref must be applauded in my view. Should have booked Long for diving though but at least he got the main decision correct and isn't that what we all want from refs at the end of the game??

I was about 10m away from the incident and when I got home I watched the highlights on sky. 9 times out of 10 that is given, because it was a penalty! Put it this way, if that was Jerome being brought down in the box like that, everyone on here would be going mental.

I agree 9/10 a penalty would be given because in real-time it DID look like a penalty. As ive said if u analyse the slo-mo Long has tried to con the ref. If it was Jerome who went down, sure i would be screaming for a penalty but after the game id have viewed it differently. Anyway, chillout mate it werent a penalty and we won! Im sure we'll get a dodgy penalty given against us next week at Arsenal.

It looked like a stonewall in realtime but if you still think it is penalty after looking at the replay from behind then I am astonished. Long and Gabbidon are running parallel and Long swerves across him and dives into his legs. Very clever but still a dirty cheating dive.
