Folk seem to be forgetting...we often beat Liverpool at Selhurst. Surely a guaranteed 3 points there!

We also have a bit of momentum, and have barely dropped any points against the really low clubs (1-4 Fulham being the excpetion.)

I think another 12 points might be enough this season.

Four measly wins.

They all look hard though the games left.

Don't you just love the "never give up" Palace way of thinking? I do it every year too

It's going to be an incredibly tight run in and who knows how many points will actually be enough to save a team.

We only have 7 games against teams in the bottom 11, the fewest amongst the bottom teams along with Fulham. West Brom still play all the other 10 again.

Obviously our match ups with these bottom teams will be crucial but we have to get points elsewhere also (which we have threatened to do but not managed yet) and then hope to get lucky as others play each other.. it's going to be extremely tight.

West Ham's last 8 includes United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and City with only 4 games left against the bottom half at home.

Fulham could be almost out of it by the end of March.

Norwich need to be safe by the middle of April and their run before then really isn't too attractive. They're certainly not out of it.

After tonight, Stoke's next 5 are United (H) Southampton Swansea (H) City Arsenal (H). They have a nice March after that but then a nasty April. They won't have much of a window to escape.

Hull are in free fall and their last 5 include United, Arsenal and Everton. West Brom is their only home game left against the bottom half.

Cardiff definitely have the nicest run, but they need to do 6 points better than us now.

Point is, no-one has an easy run in, but being 5 points ahead gives us a massive, massive advantage. After the next 4 or 5 games, it'll become very clear who's in real danger. If we're still 5 points ahead at the end of February, we have a very real chance.

It's going to take a massive effort and a big slice of luck but it can be done. This current squad can do it but wouldn't it be a real morale booster if we could get a couple of decent signings in before the deadline.

A journo on talksport has just said if Pulis keeps Palace up it will be manager of the year stuff and I agree. The biggest factor in our favour is Tony Pulis.

I really, really don't want it to go to the last day of the season although, looking at upcoming fixtures for us and those around us, I suspect it will.

I'm stocking up on beta-blockers as we speak.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
