Shakespeare Sydney, you have been asked this question, many times before, do you actually go to any Palace games?
Or is your analysis of, Mariappa, based on listening to his performances on PalaceIplayer?
When are you & your sidekick, Ian J Beale, appearing at the Fairfield Halls?
You 2 Clowns, could be the next Cannon & Ball or maybe the Krankies...................................

Give it a rest now BunkUp. It wasn't that funny first time round but you're obviously going to continue amusing yourself ad infinitum

Are you 2 rehearsing, you haven`t slagged Parish off, for ages.
Great to see Pulis`s comment on how good our 4 Owners are & how good they have been since Saving the club.
Administration to the Premiership & 16th in our mini league.
Most of the Morons on here, that have too much to say, don`t even go to games, they contribute nothing towards the club & all they do is run down the Owners, especially Parish, it is rather sad & boring.

LJB... Please tell me you're on some sort of wind up?!??? Joel ward would stand out anywhere he plays but if you had the choice you'd have it like that than maybe guedioura in middle and wardy at the back? Hahahahaha good crosser?! Mate what game are you watching ? And most goals come from his side. Saturday he had a mare and against Stoke Assaidi was one of their main threats and he looked suspect. Some palace fans do worry me wow

Woah..But granted his crossing has been diabolical recently when he slices them off behind the goal! To be fair Assaidi is a good player and he didn't really create too much, lots of fancy tricks and stepovers but didn't cut inside him and gets shot off atall. Mariappa has not been too bad though and he supports the wingers well. He was in Stoke's box going for a 1-2 or something, when Puncheon scored and he was good at supporting Bolasie at Villa. But I see you and the others who have slated me's point. Would of course have Ward over him but don't really fancy KG in midfield this season

Good summary. I haven't seen the Wigan game as they don't show FA Cup here, but he's looked solid defensively at RB in every league game and does get forward...he just can't cross very well when he gets there.

He has been doing a decent job , he's solid and whilst not great going forward , he's done the job and some games he has done well on the overlap , I believe his biggest problem is that we have been completely spoilt at right back over the last 4/5 years in Clyne and Ward, which make him look worse than he actually is.

Couldn't agree more, I think he has done pretty well at RB, given that it isn't his favoured position. After all there aren't many people getting on Joel Wards back for not being amazing in the centre of midfield.

I'm a bit old-school, if he can defend well then thats the main part of the job - having a RB that is great going forward and crossing is a luxury in my opinion!

Is the point. The whole Sissoko deal would have involved him pairing up with Jedi thereby releasing Ward back to his natural position. Mariappa would then return to the bench as utility defender with our thanks for his service this season and you lot can get off his back. Perhaps that will still happen after the windown closes..?

I'm with you two on this, I think considering he a dedicated CB and not a RB he's doing fine, remember him from his Watford days at CB and he was a thorn in our side when ever we played them, was ok in the Premier last season for Reading.

Some on here need to give him a break, he's being played out of position and is doing his best given the circumstances.

We are yet to concede from his side since he has been at RB i think. and were winning games with Ward in Midfield, why change a system that works?

it was his fault for 1st spurs goal as he left his man and moved into centre to challenge for a ball that was never his and he was at fault for 2nd at wigan on sat and could be criticised for the 1st too.

So there's 2 nailed on examples.

Just not a RB. Centre or nothing in my opinion

Mariappa was poor against Wigan there's no denying that however he is being played out of position so we should cut him a little slack as there were players playing their normal games that were much worse ! However when Dwight Gayle came on Bannan seems to play more central and looked busy and we kept the ball much better so I would go with against Hull

Speroni

Ward Delany Gabbidon Moxey

Jedinak Guediura

Bolassie Bannan Puncheon

Chamakh

Knowing how Pulis has set up the back for previous games I can't really see this happening. Think more like:

Marriappa Delany Gabbidon Ward

or

Marriappa Delany Gabbidon Moxey....if he really wants to keep Ward in Midfield.

Pulis has shown to like Ward on the left even over a fully fit Moxey. Oh and I dont think Chamakh up top is a good thing, he gest lost in that position...seems more comfortable and productive in the hole.
