Baldfella, I knew you were a rugby mon from some of the other bollox you wrote and how old is your sign? WRLFC were heading to Bolton before Whelan stepped in. The rivalry comes from a football team on the up and a rugby team that were on their way down. The chubbies didn't like our rise into the spotlight. WAFC fans used to go to the rugby in the 70's 80's when there was as much chance of a kick off as there was at the football. Maurice Lindsay once said on football focus, "theyre a good little team but unfortunately they've chosen to play football in the back garden of rugby league" that coupled with them refusing to lend us Central Park when we were drawn against Liverpool, as our ground was deemed unsafe by the local football hating, rugby loving council went a long way to the football clubs hatred of all things rugby. The signs around Wigan are a lot fairer these days and the councillors now love a free trip to Wembley, especially when WAFC are there. There's your history lesson as what you wrote is the biggest load of cobblers I've ever read. Nobody gets lucky that often.

As bad as it sounds I do look at the Amex and think that's not bad at all. I drove past that ghastly edifice the other week.

not a bad looking stadium similar to Stokes? I think out of all the recent new build stadiums Cardiff's has looked the nicest
No accounting for tastes, I don't like it at all. Too much concrete and all a bit soulless. The big stand on the left isn't too bad as it's a bit different from the rest of it. I like four independent stands, although blending them together at the corners like at The Valley and the City Ground works nicely.

"I like four independent stands, although blending them together at the corners like at The Valley and the City Ground works nicely" Just saying I agree from my experiences at the 2012 0lympics and having grown up with "modern" American stadiums...it's nice to be able to get into other parts of the stadium from inside, especially if your stand's only beer option is little plastic bottles of Carling...

I went to watch Levante v Barca last year and their ground was pretty good equal side's in a bowl shape. Was loud when they bothered to shout and held about 25,000 fans. Red and blue seats and nets in the goals which also looked good. GT
