Medel is OK, but not sure whether Cornelius can actually run.

Cornelius got a bad ankle injury shortly after signing for them so the jury's out on him.
Medel's alright and Caulker is a good signing, also Moody has a goog knowledge of the European scene apparently.
January is a notoriously hard time to buy decent players so he should at least be given time and a summer window to judge the bloke on properly.

I thought the tgread opened with a pretty fair question. Can't say that I've seen much to make me feel Mr. M is an integral part of the club? Or maybe thete is no one worth buying out there. I cant believe that T.P came into the job without the reassurance that he would be able to strengthen the squad he inherited. It is frustrating watching the teams around us buying players that might solve their problems. There are players in the league that have scored mord than our entire team! There is a need to imptovd thd forward line with a player who has experience of helping those around him find the goal more often. It seems every player who we are linked with sems to be signing for rival team? Is thst a good testimony for Mr. Moody. I for one would like to see a frw results of his supposed skills. Sooner rather than later so players had time to fit in with the team. Think a few more will soon be asking this question? Including T.P. maybe?

Honest question, why does Ian Moody have such a good reputation in the game?

I didn't know much about him before he signed and well obviously the transfer window isn't done but it hasn't exactly been great has it?

At Cardiff he was involved with signing Cornelius for £10million who hasn't scored yet.Numerous other players such as Odemwingie and Medel haven't been great either. Especially when you consider what they paid/are paying.

Interesting article about him in the DM in Dec here:

Can anyone share some of his success stories? Because I don't really know of any?

So what you're saying is you know basically nothing about the guy but the tiny tiny bit you do know you got from the f*€king Daily Mail!?! Jesus, let him at least complete a window before you start these idiotic threads.

Calm down mate, the bloke asked a fair question which I wouldn't mind knowing the answer cos I know nothing about him either

^^^^This too. All I know Is he used to be part of Cardiffs recruitment and he has a list of if I remember correctly all the premier league players ever with stats on which I believe I heard somewhere but can't remember exactly .

Until he was sacked by/left Cardiff, I'd never heard of the bloke.

At Cardiff he was able to offer wages of 30k a week in the championship. At Palace you try attracting people with £17:50 and a part time shelf stacking job in Sainsbury's.

And you should do your own research. Although you did a good job at finding the negative garbage the Mail spews out and posting it.

Good managers surround themselves with people who can execute their intentions. That's a polite way of saying "take orders". Successful managers in football recognise this; the Fergie template is to run the club at all levels with an iron fist and don't keep anyone around who might challenge your authority. Fergie is Malky's role model. Fact.

Malky, at Watford and then Cardiff, surrounded himself with people capable enough to get things done, young and unknown enough not to challenge his authority, and ambitious enough to be loyal and contribute to his success. Moody was one of these people. He competently did exactly what Malky told him needed to be done.

With no disrespect at all, though, Moody was as good as his brain (Malky) and his wallet (Tan, and before that the Watford fella) made him. Now, he's on his own, with a manager who didn't hand-pick him and an owner who may be expecting him to actually have the strategy, rather than just executing it. Basically, we signed a top notch oily rag bereft of his engineer.

All of which may partially explain the enduring inability of Palace to make headway in the transfer market, in spite of Moody's arrival.

On the other hand we might not be an attractive proposition and we don't pay big wages, compared to other clubs.

People are so quick to attack others and with actually no evidence to back it up.

Let's throw caution to the wind, what's the worst that could happen? I'm all for a third spell of admin...........
