Team spirit.

I confess back in November at WBA away I was upset enough to think all our new signings were a waste of space (not really but you know how blood rushes to the head) and that we should have stuck with the Wembley team.

I didn't go to Man City away but that result shows how good we are as a team.

Having watched us get demolished at home by Swansea early on in the season, and now sitting in 16th place having won more games than them, I think says a lot about what our club is about.

7 clean sheets in our last 13 games. We don't need to score prolifically if our defence remains sound.

The most pleasing surprise for me this season is the vigour and enthusiasm and togetherness that our team showed against Stoke yesterday .
Chamakh gets kicked and roughed up from the very first minutes of the match , keeps his cool , and the ref is forced to protect him . Marouane is constantly encouraging his team-mates , playmaking , bearing down on the opposition - what a worker and inspiration .
Indeed our starting eleven and our three subs worked so hard and were so playing for our shirt that it is really out of order to headline Chamakh - but the man is a joy to watch as he careers around the pitch causing confusion amongst the opposition, his quirky
short passes , his control of the ball etc etc etc.
What about Delaney going off on his Toure-esq attacks and then defending like a demon ?
Bolasie = magic ..
Punch = played with head and heart.
Ward anybody better on the pitch ?
Jedi a rock
Guedioura a great game = so great to have him fit
Parr works and works and works - Gabbidon works and works and works
Mariappa works and works and works
O'Keefe solid in attack and defence
The Mox what a tryer
Wilbraham a whirlwind - hares around the pitch and
so unsettles the opposition
Speroni long may he reign

Thank you team , Thank you Mr Pulis

20 points from 22 games after 3 from 10 initially.

Remarkable turnaround.

Yeah, that's good form for newcomer to this league. Its a shame about the first ten, that might be what sends us down in the end.

Speroni, Ward, Delaney, Gabbidon, Jedinak, Chamakh, Guerdiora, Bannan, Bolasie have all been positives. Add another three or four to that list and we will stay up.

The fact that we are somehow still in the mix...I thought deffo relegation before a ball was kicked, not that it bothered me, and all I wanted was for us to go down fighting.

We still might of course but the team have surpassed all my expectations - the obvious lack of quality has been supplemented by desire...something lacking in a lot of those teams around us.

We now have a punchers chance of staying up at thr turn...something I didnt think was possible

Most pleasing surprise?

Seeing Wilbrahamovic run on to the pitch on Saturday!

Seriously though, the team spirit has been great, but not a surprise after last year. So it's been how well players like Moxey, Delaney and Gabbidon, who were written off before a ball had been kicked, have stepped up and played out of their skins to compete in this league. Take a bow lads.

I'm enjoying being competitive, whatever the result teams know they've been in a game against us, even against the big guns. We were getting outclassed most of the time under holloway.
We've now got a great chance of staying up and even if we don't we're gonna go down fighting!!!
