Bolasie had more positive influence on the game today than for many a match. He also always got back and was often the player putting in a challenge on their winger before Parr appeared. My vote goes to Yannick.

puncheon for his general play, his desire to beat a player, his goal and his response to his missed pen.

Yannick Bolasie is surprisingly a very good defender. MOM is between him, Puncheon and Butland.

I'll give the whole team credit, but Bolasie keep on frustrating - from one second of brilliance to complete f...up. Puncheon, Ward or Jedinak for me as MOM.

Butland for them, Puncheon for us.

But for their keeper we'd have cruised the last five minutes.

Without a doubt Guedioura. Was very creative and was the only one making things happen at times.

I agree, I'd certainly give it to him for the first half anyway. I don't like the fact Bannan's been dropped (although understandable yesterday bearing in mind the physicality of the oppo) but Guedioura looks to be a decent option that offers something different through the middle, very direct, strong yet skillful and a cracking shot.

Completely agree, we certainly missed his cultured left foot, but on the other hand we were playing the team with a big physical presence.
To be fair to Guedioura he had a good game and more than matched them in the middle.

I think Yala got in a few decent crosses, but we could have done with a few more. Bannan was missed but then we had a bit more about us in other areas. It's nice having options and being able to play to suit the oppo, versitilty is key to survival, especially with a small squad.

For us (I also speak on behalf of TreeJr who has lost his password), it was Guediora.

Truly influential

Butland also did well.

Guedioura's passing was so good, you almost didn't notice it, but he would create space for himself (whilst under pressure) look up for options and almost slide it to a player, accuracy was superb. Maybe not quite as all-action tackling, but wow! would love to see him with Bannan in the same team, add in Chamakh and there is some good touch play available

The so-called scattergun tranfer policy bagged a good-un I reckon

Puncheon for me.

He kept driving at their defence and put them on the back foot.

The goal was the cherry on top.

So pleased for him after the stick he got last week.
