I'm slightly baffled as to how you've managed to become offended by what seems to me a fairly innocuous set of quotes that are clearly just direct responses to journalist's questions rather than an attempt to talk down to you. I'm not at all offended, nor did I say I was. I merely said I thought he came across as a bit of an arse, which I think he does. Doesn't really bother me personally...he can say what he wants. I think its you that comes across as being a bit of an arse.

Personally I didn't think SP came across as arrogant, I thought he said he takes personal responsibility to deliver what he and the management had promised. And he was saying that people in the press had mischaracterised the tax loss as profit, he didn't say that SydtheEagle was too thick to understand it. It is scary that Championship clubs all seem to be permanently making losses and it's a big gamble assuming that in the end they get in the money by being promoted.

What is it about the early hours that brings out the beast in you? That's three separate threads and counting.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

Can't see anything wrong with what he has said. To me it begs to reassure us that we won't have to travel to picket LLoyds anytime soon and that he is taking full responsibility for the direction the club is going in and the decisions being made to get there. Pointless nit picking.

Don't these type of news stories come out towards the end of every transfer window, ie, Parish is letting everyone know that we aren't going to pay silly money for our transfer targets. Seems sensible to me. Edited by Ninjas Headband (16 Jan 2014 6.57am)

Seems sensible to me. I disagree as I have been saying for quite a while that I wish Parish would keep a lower profile and leave it up to his manager to do the talking. Pulis is bullish and comes out with quotes like the fact that he originally agreed with Parish that the club would buy loads of new players in January but having seen the squad perform he now realises that they don't need anywhere near that many and perhaps just a couple will do. Parish on the other hand only ever comes out with can't pay or won't pay and it does absolutely nothing for other's perception of the club as they just see us as a small town club enjoying our season in the sun before we revert back to where we belong. By all means run the club on a shoestring to safeguard it's future but it isn't necessary to broadcast the fact to all and sundry as it does us no favours whatsoever.

Basically what he is saying is we can't afford to be a premiership team, so we will always rely on loanees, clever bargain scouting and cast offs coupled with players we can develop. If I was Steve P id pay to keep us in the Prem and then make a huge profit flogging us to a rich Arab. Watch what happens at Southampton I think the Levers bought them for £16million and will sell them now at a similar price to what Fulham went for £150 Million

The four shareholders are sitting on a huge increase in value of their investment and perhaps it would be best if they did sell out. It would seem that they can't afford to fund the club at a level that would be competitive with other Premiership clubs and they don't want to have to continue to pour money into a loss making Championship club either
