who have made me question the then manager's sanity for playing them, with Ade Akinbiyi being one of them.

Tony Pulis signed him for Stoke !

Despite being easily one of my favourite palace players of my lifetime and one of the best, how many other players would get booed when they step up to take a penalty?

Ben Watson.

Not really into hating anybody, but in terms of nearly ending the club's existence by a moment of sheer uselessness, Stern John ranks as my least liked.

Survival Sunday at Sheff Wed, 2-2 the score in the last seconds, he's played through with only the keeper to beat and Ambrose waiting square to thump it into an empty net. Tries a poncy finish, hits the post via the keeper and the ball goes down the other end. Mayhem in the Palace box, relegation and certain liquidation avoided only by the ref blowing up for full time before the corner can be taken (surely the only time this has ever happened in Palace's favour in history?)

As Vic & Bob would say, "Terrible man, terrible man, terrible, terrible, terrible man."

Probably a really great bloke when not playing football in a red and blue shirt in a sudden death scenario.

I know what you mean about John. For the duration of his stay with us I always felt he had a lot more to give to the cause than he did.
I remember he moreorless single-handedly won us a point away at Derby, and he scored an important equaliser away at Watford as well.

That aside, he looked thoroughly uninterested and lazy, despite playing in the most committed and passionate Palace side I've seen in my lifetime.

Fat prick.

Harsh to hate Lawrence. Clearly a limited player but he was honest and hard working as they come.

Yes! I remember screaming at the television at his utter uselessness and how he had almost single handedly got us relegated (and potentially liquidated). But as EverybodyDannsNow puts it, he did help us in other games. He was a frustrating player though.

mmmn been reminded of Kevin Miller, seem to remember he left us when we were struggling and then, never let a goal in, in a way he had never done when he was our keeper, used to love the taunts he got but it seemed to help him.....yes Kevin Miller.

What, even me Bf, one of your friends on here? Even if I say (as did Palacephotoman) Neil Ruddock, he was a cvnt before we signed him, during his spell with us and after.

Palacephotoman, you forgot to mention him kissing the badge when he went off

Never actually hated a Palace player but ther are a number that I have thought were pretty useless.
However, there was something about Chris Martin that I didn't like and found particularly irritating

John Oster! Lazy useless sex offender! Hate him even more since he left for that two footed lunge on Darren Ambrose for Doncaster!

This club of mine constantly tests my loyalty but I as do many other fans never falter or crumble My loyalty to the Palace will never waver My unadulterated passion for a club I’ve grown up supporting wont die, and my desire to keep coming back and take the blows won’t succumb to negativity
