Absolutely disgraceful. Heritage is important to anyone with a soul. Just like Bluebirds in red shirts - insulting to the tradition of the club, the heart of the supporters and the history of football. This is English footie, not American football. I'd object to Crystal Palace Eagles for the same tradition-based reason, but I suppose we can feel extremely lucky by being owned by Palace fans.

I thought Hull's chairman is a local man, not a faceless foreign investor?

Changed the badge, yes, but at least it was consulted on. I wasn't very happy with the badge change idea initially because some of the candidates were awful. The badge that came through though is well designed and doesn't depart hugely from the old one other than being fresher with class. Not so much rebranding as a dusting off. The Hull name change, on the other hand, is deep and dangerous.

What will be interesting to see is how many Hull fans will roll over for the sake of the money. So many red shirts worn by the Cardiff home fans shows many of them have taken the Premiership over history, will the KC be boycotted if this name change becomes real?

He thinks his money means that he can ride roughshod over the fans wishes. If I supported HCFC I would be making moves to get him ousted. I suspect many Hull fans are only looking short term and enjoying being in the Prem so won't stand up to him. The chairman is just a temporary custodian of a club, it is wrong to call them owners.

Can someone explain to me how changing "City" to "Tigers" is suddenly going to make 10 year old South East Asians interested in supporting Hull?
The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. |
