Been a few games now. Appreciate not a great start, but interested to know how you all feeling about being in the premiership. Does it live up to expectations? More exciting? Less exciting?
Also many last year spoke about how young Palace players have a chance there. It seems thats gone out the window. Appreciate your best one went to united (not playing though).Whats happened to your academy players? You bought 16 players right?? Jon Williams I know is injured now but he wasnt getting a starting place before his injury. Teams that tend to stay up in the prem are those that keep their core and their principles of playing.

Good to see you back Chelski, I have a good mate whose a Chelski fan, and he doesn't even know who Chamakh is! Says it all about the fans of the big clubs, so much more uneducated about football than fans of teams like Palace etc...

Your HOL best newcomer of the year 2013.

Premiership is where it's at ? What's the point of football if its not to compete and beat the best teams. I for one love it.
Bit of a stupid question to me really it's like saying wish we played in the Wessex league we would win every week ? What's the point. Premiership is class that's where we need to be and try and stay

Keep the core that rich coming from a fan who's club wbo cleary bough their recent success.

Re prem I'd have been happy to start the season with the squad that got us promotion.

Actually our success came from a core of players (Terry, Lampard, Cole, Cech and Drogba). You miss the point. I never said the core had to be 'home grown'. I just was making the point that the teams that tend to stay up keep their core e,g, Stoke, Swansea.
In terms of buying success. Please name a team in this country that has not bought success? Wasn't your whole squad last week all bought?

Your clearly taking the piss with that' comment
How much did the players mentioned cost?
We spent about 19 million on all those players .
Chelsea the first club to sell its soul .

I have enjoyed it more than I was expecting and Palace have performed better than my fears. It is the place to play but it is so hard for a club like Palace to compete at this level which is a sad downside for me. Overall I am just going to enjoy the rest of the season and hope we can get a few wins here and there.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Loving it,we had our big games in the championship(millwall, charlton, brighton and teams that had just come down from the premiership),but every week is a big game now.We are attracting interest from lots of places, the atmosphere is electric, and we are moving up in improving the facility and the ground.

Yes its going to be a hard season, but imagine beating Arsenal on the 26 October.Would that not fill you with pride, that is what being in the big boy league gives us.A chance to dream, and that is why im loving it and would love to stay a bit longer than one season.

Agree with the last point.
And IMO we signed to many.
However in the first 4 Games, changes were at a minimum until the Swansea game.
Six new players in the team, and they played like strangers because they were.
Hopefully back to basics tomorrow and hoping for a point.

The prem is a two, could even be a 3 tier league.

Top 6/7
Middle 6/7
Bottom 6/7

The Championship is a 1 tier league, anybody can beat anybody,Posh last year beat the Champions, Cardiff, home and away and got relegated.cant see that scenario happening in the Prem.
So for me I prefer the Championship for the above reason but to play the big boys is good, just to nick a point at any of the top 6/7 would be special,to win one would be even more so.

I'm pleased that we are in the Prem for the financial stability for the club.
I like to go to the big and famous stadiums.
I like to see the overpaid prima donnas and still dislike them.
I like that Palace are mentioned more on the telly and radio.
I dont like the prices we are being charged to watch some of these games.
I dont like that we dont play many Saturday 3pms (next two are,two after that arn't and both at home)

What's the point of playing in the championship if not to get promoted to the Premier League? Would you rather we finished 7th every season in the championship, and then all of you could behold your beloved "exciting" football for years? No thanks. I love the premier league because of the grounds, the coverage, and the world class players. I like the championship because we can compete for a top spot. Win win.

The only sad thing is the whole Zaha situation. If we still had him, I would fully believe we had a chance of taking something from every game. But.... we let him go to a team that don't use him, a team that everyone seems to be saying is lacking an exciting/creative midfielder. They have the best, most exciting, young, british, Zaha going, and don't even seem interested. As soon as we won promotion, a season long loan would have been best, for all parties involved.
Give the boy a chance, and boy will he shine.

Other than that, we were a surprise contender last season. Got promoted to what is apparently the best league in the world, with probably the cheapest ever squad. This is Crystal Palace, ups and downs, it's all about the ride, and enjoy it we should.
