What is the British Sea Power - The Decline Of British Sea Power like? Musically. What band are they similar too. I've heard loads of praise for this album, but have heard nothing. Wouldn't play it in Dublin, its all Westlife and Boyzone over here and I like 'Where the streets have no name', but not on 30 minute rotation!

British Sea Power are kind of unique at the moment. Not sure who they claim to be influenced by but I can hear shades of Joy Division, The Smiths and Disintegration era Cure in there. Some of it is quite commercial, some is quite dark. Very good album, worth checking out if you like that sort of band They are from Brighton but I can forgive them that.
