Last game at age of 46 playing for my works side. We won 5-4 after being 3-1 down, so went out in a blaze of glory. Knew it was time to stop then though.

still playing...will let you know in years to come (I'm 61). We have a great league here, over 35 division has 9 teams & Masters Division (over 50) has 4 teams. Over 200 guys signed up. The oldest is 77 & still playing.

Love that ! I play 7 a side Indoor (Large Hall) twice weekly, have been involved in that for 4 years now, I'm 33.

There are a number of lads playing in their early and late 50's and it's a broad mix, youngest is 22 for example !

I'd love to keep at it as long as possible too but only in the last 4 months my knees are slowly but surely starting to act up and I'm approaching the thought of getting them checked out soon !

People who are still playing in early 30's, does it get much harder? when did your pace etc start to go?

im 30 and still playing 3/4 times a week...i think around that age you really learn to play with your head not your legs.

i havnt partically lost my pace yet (tho i was never like a whippet) but i certainly know now to give a youngun a more yards than i used to!

Ive dropped back from a winger/striker to a central/deep lying midfielder, and much prefer having a lot more of the ball and dictation on the game in that role!

i now have to double strap both ankles as they are pretty much made of glass nowadays! Im sure i will feel the benefits of that in 20 year time

If i was thinking with my head i would only play once a week now...but i cant bring myself to do that!

I'm still going at 35 - still rattling around the sevenoaks league.

However when playing against the team full of teenagers, you do notice your age - not so much in terms of football or pace but language i.e. that goal was "sick."

One little drip kissed his teeth at me the other week. (head in hands smiley thing.)

I stopped from about 16-24, then started playing again. Ripped my hamstring in half and had to have last season off, was probably the fittest I have been as an adult back in June, then ripped my leg open paintballing, still nursing the tendon back to strength but hoping to be back this season - aged 31

Gave up at 37. Was playing centre mid and was late on a tackle and one of their blokes shouts "your to slow old man" and I thought your bloody right.....came back for a reunion game and legs had gone, the boots have now be binned and it's just watching the Palace now.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Well I'm sure it's different for us all, for me I still keep up with most except those that are truly quick as I've always been a strong runner !

My Stamina is still high but it's recovery I find way harder now, do be as stiff as a board after games and it affects how frequently I can play !

I'll never be someone who can play and hold back from going hell for leather, that's what will probably count against me eventually, probably explains why my knees are beginning to creak too

Recovery, stiff, tell me about it. When I get off the train at cannon street on Monday morning I look like I might have had a night out in a well known south coast seaside town.
