couldn't name just one player, there are several over the years that i have followed palace, including johnny byrne, bobby woodruff, gerry queen, john jackson, nigel martyn, wrighty, geoff thomas, aj, the list goes on and on, but if you are forcing me to name just one then it's.........AJ for me. You are pretty much on my wavelength CRE but please dont forget Steve Kember. Very underrated, but to my mind a giant at Selhurst and loyal with it.

For flashes of brilliance over short spells:- Don Rogers, Peter Taylor, Rachid Harkouk and Vince Hilaire and Attilio Lombardo. Long spells:- John Jackson, Kenny Sansom, Nigel Martyn, Jolly, AJ, Doog and Bright. Top vote Ian Wright.
Now I don't have to tell you good folks what's been happening in our beloved little town. Sheriff murdered, crops burned, stores looted, people stampeded, and cattle raped. The time has come to act, and act fast. I'm leaving. |

Jim Cannon must be up there and of course the fantastic Johnnny Byrne but the most exciting for me was Don Rogers.

Through the eras i've been watching Palace..... Geoff Thomas, Simon Rodger, Chris Coleman, Marc Edworthy, Matt Jansen. But then no one seems to stand out over the last 10 years or so.. or maybe it's just my memory. Dougie of course, and loved AJ's work-rate. Of the current crop, Paddy for his passion and love for the club. And Clyne is arguably the greatest player we've produced.

I`ve been watching Palace for 54 years now, and have to say there have been so many who are worth a shout. Agree with all those already mentioned but if I had to choose just one, then it could only be Jim Cannon, in my opinion the best leader we have had.
Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link] |

the man in my profile pic for me,always has been and always will be Sir Billy of Gilbert!! at the time it was said he was the best centre back around not to gain a full endland cap......personally I think at that time he was the best english centre back full stop!!! not that i was a little bit biased or anything like that......but I guess the team of the 80's early demise didn't help his cause. what really rubbed our noses in it though was the weeds steve foster getting in ahead of Sir Billy...FFS! Obviously player choice depends on age and years watching Palace, having been a supporter since the 1940s my choice is very easy--Johnny Byrne.
