15.11.86 Palace 3 Ipswich 3 George Wood again. Historic match this one: why? The first time a certain Mark Bright and Ian Wright played together. They both scored by the way! Attachment: h ipswich 3-3 15.11.86.jpg (142.58Kb)

27.9.86 Palace 1 Reading 3 I think that's Andy Gray on the left and on the right Andy Higginbottom - remember him? What I particularly like about this picture is the red and blue stripes on top of the Arthur Waite stand - not tarnished or hidden by adverts.

24.2.85 Palace 0 Wimbledon 5 One of the most humiliating games i've ever been to but produced this great photo. Jim Cannon tries unsuccessfully to stop Wimbledon plunder their 3rd goal in front of the Sainsbury's End. His momentum carries him right to the barriers just in front of us; he rests on them in despair and utters the immortal line: "RIGHT F**KING GAME AND A HALF THIS IS!" As you can probably see he later kindly signed the photo, and was very amused to turn the photo over and see that my friend had written word for word what he'd said. 20.4.87 Brighton 2 Palace 0 Doing what we always did in the league there: lose! Here's me infiltrating the home end. Brighton went down that year too. Attachment: a brighton 0-2 20.4.87.jpg (151.44Kb)

Same Barnsley game. Photo of George Wood is significant as this was his very last home game for Palace. The very next day we drew 4-4 at Leicester with Wood making a howler to end all howlers, and subsequently Suckling was brought in as replacement within days. 28.12.87 Palace 2 Reading 3 12,449 - big crowd those days - see us lose to the bottom side. Barber at No.9 there and Cannon far right with Glen Pennyfather and Geoff Thomas marshalling the midfield. Attachment: h reading 2-3 28.12.87.jpg (114.87Kb)

27.2.88 Palace 1 Shrewsbury Town 2 Sorry to have to remind you, but here we are losing to our bogey team again. If we were European Champions and Shrewsbury non-league we would STILL manage to not beat them. I've never come across a bogey team like them, although Bristol City are starting to run them close. pic 1: you can see Pardew (2nd Palace player to the left) playing one of his early games at Selhurst Edited by Bubbs (26 Mar 2011 8.48am) Attachment: h shrews 1-2 27.2.88.jpg (153.34Kb)
