Sitting next to me at last nights game was some slow w*nker. For example when the boys at the back of my block started to go "I bet your wife's in the window" he said to me "Wife's in the window? whats that all about?" I just said to him "Have you ever been to Amsterdam?". He sat there for about 5 minutes before he went "Oh yeah I get it now!". Another thing he was chanting for the wrong bloke saying "Theres only one Gregory Thompson" I assume he ment Geoff Thomas. He stank of piss as well...

For a last few seasons I have had some old woman sitting behind me and all she ever says is COME ON PALACE, WATCH IT PALACE, and then she has a strange one where she just starts signing "footballers, footballers". Also has false teeth which just makes it sound worse. Also there is a bloke in the row in front who turns up to every game totally hammered and just starts shouting abuse at the opposition fans which can be entertaining. He gets so mad his face turns a purple shade and it looks like his about to explode. Seen a fair few nutters over the years.

I know that old woman, she's a bit mad! And the bloke in front of you.
I usually sit on the pitch, between U-V in the AW but sometimes I watch her, she's funny, shouting "COME ON PALACE!" I thought her false teeth were gonna come out too!
That bloke has been told enough times to behave, the stewards should know better not to let him in p*ssed!
Still now there is a bar for the home fans in the AW, I think it may just get a little worse! And I'm working in that stand again this season!!!

I sat last season in Holmesdale Lower, Block C, row 18 or so, and there was a guy about 4 or 5 rows behind me, who used to constantly shout "Get Into Em." Now once or twice is bareable, but he used to do it about 30 to 40 times a game, sometimes even when we had the ball!! I once spoke to him, and I think he was mentally ill but talk about annoying!

Does anyone else know of this guy??

Blazey - I think you and your fellow colleges have managed to calm that guy down over the course of the season as he is a lot quieter now. Myself and a few mates were laughing at him once and he turned round and threatened to deck us, just made me laugh at him even more really. Think he has got the hint that everyone around him thinks that he is a right dick so he keeps quiet.

In block M Upper tier, I'm surrounded by nutters. There's the group who sing "Two Little Boys" and "I used to work in Chicago". They include Paul Romain, who wrote the suporters' column in the programme before Laurie whatshisname. Any HOL members among this crowd?

Also, in front of me is a really annoying bloke, always standing up giving it large to the opposing fans (from the daring distance of 50 yards!). He hasn't got a brain - he just follows whatever the crowd does. As a test, I booed Routledge after a sublime bit of skill last year. Chimp in front joins in. Next season I'm going to start chanting 'Hatstand, Hatstand' to see if he joins in.

Goodness is what you do. Not who you pray to.

I sit a few rows behind him - he wears a baseball hat every game?

I also sit right next to a guy called Steve who during the game would shout "Come on Palace... Saveloy!" Anyone in block C heard this for the past four years?

I'm in the Arthur, which is the only part of the park where you can smoke. Everytime I light up this group of three behind me start with this pathetic coughing noise. They once brought along a battery operated fan to blow the smoke away but it broke. I wouldn't mind but they've not even got the balls to ask me to put it out (not that I would).
Also, last seasons programmes had a profile on the match ref with a yellow/red card cound for that season. As soon as the ref dishes out a card one of them would announce the new number of cards he's issued.
I'm not sure why, I think they think it's clever.
It's getting right up my nose.
If they do it again this season I'm taking up Havana's

I'm glad someone else has the same problem as me and my old man. We often get smart arse comments from Non smokers sitting behind us.
We sit in the Holmesdale Upper (smoking section).
At one of the so called kids get in free games last season, we had some what i call armchair supporters sitting in the seats behind us. Now my old man likes to watch the game and smoke a cigar while the match is in progress.
These so called supporters behind us start moaning like fcuk when me old man lights up, so in a flash i turn round and say "You do realise you are sitting in the smoking section"
Said geezer behind says i couldnt get tickets for anywhere else in the ground. I retorted with what a load of bollox, you're too bloody mean to pay to sit elsewhere. If you don't like anyone round here smoking i suggest you f*** off elsewhere. This came with a few cheers from other smoking and non smoking supporters near us.
Anyway we gets to half time and i go for a piss. I get back and find jobsworth steward waiting for me. He only asks us yes US to move. With that i start losing my temper, and ask to see the head steward. After 5 minutes of ranting and raving with the head steward i get my way and said geezer behind gets moved.
I smoke myself but do respect others wishes. When there are designated smoking and non smoking areas i wish people would sit where they know they wont get affected by us smokers.
My old man is 68 years old and been watching palace since the mid 50's. Its not too much to ask for him to watch a match in comfort now is it? Or am i asking far too much, in the eyes of non smokers?

I was on the train home last night and a female palace fan said into her mobile phone, "Yeah, it was nil-nil."

- She must have missed the early goal and wandered off at the end without realising PSV had won it. (Though, with the screen and the ceremony at the end, how'd she manage it?!)
