I rememeber a lot of the CPL punks, a couple of them still go to Palace tho the piercings and tartan trousers are long gone, one of them drinks in the Clifton every home game round by the tv, Cant for the life of me think of his name tho, He's a part of history,I recalll seeing him in the late 70's and early 80's
Not a punk but Monty (Madmonty) was in the Glaziers lounge Sat took me back many a year seeing him again!!!

Edited by Barcelona Based Fan (22 Aug 2010 6.14pm)

Ah monty... Was he sober???
Do you remember when he ran on the pitch when play had been stopped, got the ball and scored???
Cant remember who we were playing but that is one f***ing great memory.

Wasn't that at Vicarage Road? The play off 2nd leg in 2006? That was one of the highlights of a surprisingly brilliant evening, despite the result and AJ's farewell...

Dunno if that was Monty,, I know Cuckoo ran on tho.

Any one used to go to The Greyhound in Croydon on Sunday nights to see punk bands???

I can remember the guys that use to go up there as I used to cut their hair, they were always bnging on about the Greyhound.
I was working down Crown Hill and they had some wild hair styles,it was a challenge though!

amazing that this thread has just come up because i was watching a programme on the bbc the home movie roadshow , this bloke had a film of a load of punks down the kings road and i recognised a bloke called vaughn in the clip , i knew him from the greyhound , a right character , bit chubby , glasses and orange hair , the clip starts at 33 minutes
[Link]

me and my mates were regulars at the greyhound , mid 77 to late 78 , i remember a load of us trying to turn a car over when they changed the entrance to a side street , i think that night they didnt open .
the floor really used to bounce , thats why they had the no pogo dancing sign up , saw so many bands there , the jam , siouxsie , heartbreakers , the damned , the ramones , i could go on ,oh to be sixteen again .
