The stumbling block is not that we want a fee for Ade it is the fact that Stoke can't pay him the £10k he's on per week now. He has 2 years left at CPFC and the contract is water tight - worth £1m in total. If Ade went to Stoke it is far that he asks them to match his wage. Obviously, they can't, hence the problem. Now rather than release Ade (and have to pay up his contract) i suggest Jordan sits down with Stoke and discusses how much they would be willing to pay. If they could offer him a 3 year deal on say £6k per week Ade might be prepared to go if we say gave him 200K upfront to go. If, as will prbably happen Stoke wait until he is released by CPFC then i suspect it will cost us over £500k - a shocking amount of money. CPFC have never asked for a transfer fee for Ade and know its not worth even trying.

I definetly dont think its fair to slate Ade effort, he runs his legs off. Not to much effect, but he tries. Palacemad you've obviously been sitting behind a piller all season, Smith: "blinding games" he played about90 minutes in total, and was not at all up to his usual performances. KAOS just hates the whole world we live in. Ade is quite s***, but i think it would be fair to give him a run. You never know. I and i'd say most of you thought Forssell was crap, never tried, left the team, had to be told to return by wilkins at chelsea. Then suddenly he started scoring and everyone loved him.

I'm confused! When we first bought AA he played about 25-30 games and scored 3 goals. Surely this is what you'd call "a run in the side". I never boo a player during a game. It's wrong. It's also very negative. However, he's had his chance at Palace. And failed. SK is right. AA should go.

Got to agree. Booing individual players is wrong. Slating the team at half/full time though for poor performances is however slightly more acceptable and a right we have after spending another 90 mins of expensive misery in "Jordan World". Anyway thats another topic ! I also believe AA has been given a fair crack of the whip and hasn't delivered. However, following Kembers first comments about long ball football up to AA in the bad old TF days I am sure he was recently quoted as saying "I want a striker we can knock the ball up to who can hold it up for other players" !! Mind you he also mentioned being able to head the ball - something which both AA and Adebola were both sh*te at. On the subject of that Chelsea ginger Fossil - I never thought he was much kop, even when he started scoring so I don't really want to see him come back either.

I dont care why or how he goes lets jus get rid of him! As long as he is in the squad it makes us look a laughing stock, he will probably find form and score 15+ goals and we will be even more ridiculed.

If the bloke commands 10K a week then he should at least be able to justify part of that amount on a weekly basis. The times he has played he's looked sh*t - fact! If he can't put up with the boo boys, who at the end of te day contribute to taht £10k a week salary then he should find another job... Why should we have to tread on egg shells around him as we ALL pay his bloody wages...FACT!

SK is right. AA should go. Can people stop posting without having a clue about the facts? 25-30 games?? Let's clear this one up, here are the facts: In his entire time at Palace Ade has made 11 starts and he has scored 3 goals. No, this does not constitute a run in the side, especially when you consider he's had a very serious injury in the middle. I simply don't understand how anyone can claim Ade has had a "fair crack at the whip" at our club. If you think that we should sell a player we paid 2.5m for, after only 11 starts, then you're more of an idiot that I realised. Even if SK does believe that AA's "style" isn't right for him, it's still appalling management to go round lambasting him in public. How on earth does he plan to offload him now when the whole world knows we don't want him??

I agree, there's no point in paying players astronomical wages if they're not up to the job, but the point is AA has not had the chance to justify himself. He was low on confidence when he got here, and straight away some of the tw@ts who claim to be Palace fans started booing him. It is not acceptable to boo your own player if he is working his socks off which AA clearly was. How is that going to help the situation? As for the argument "we're allowed to boo him because we pay his wages" - what a heap of steaming crap. Say you were having a tough time at work - you come in one morning and the company directors and shareholders are standing round your desk. As soon as you start working they start shouting at you, calling you "w@nker", and yelling "what a waste of money" at you. You think that would be "fair" treatment, because they pay your wages? It's not a case of treading on eggshells, it's a case of showing the man some respect, and giving him a chance to see what he can do. Stoke did that, and he got 2 goals in 4 starts for them. You are fine one to talk about giving some respect when you're on here calling people here idiots and stupid for not agreeing with you! Practice what you preach pecker! The bloke looks toilet - simple! He doesn't look able to control the ball or do anything even remotely useful with it. The reason he got on well at Stoke is because they're a sh*t club who's expectation aren't very high - perfect fit for him really as that about sums him up too! It's not to much to ask in the diviosn when you've spent that much on a player for him to at least show signs of being useful but he hasn't to a lot of us...FACT! He never asked to be transfered for all these millions but he hasn't done badly out of it at the end of the day has he, so why should we feel sorry for him!

Must admit, I'm no fan of Akinbiyi, but TommyEagle has put forward a very persuasive argument. Having said that, I'd still like to see Freedman and Williams up front next season.

Sorry, call me old fashioned, but I would love to make a living playing football rather than commuting each day, facing the stress of City life, being constantly held to account by other peoples actions and being priced out of a ridiculous property market. If Ade loved playing football so much, he could cope on £5k a week, I know I could. He has no financial worries, will be able to provide for his family for life and for 'someone who hasn't been given a chance', it seems that he has done enough to convince people he not worth 10k a week.
Can I just ask why has this thread diverged onto his talents on the field? Is this thread just another excuse to criticise Akinbiyi? Can we talk about something positive on this board one day?

Play Akinbiyi up front and then we'll resort to the type of football most of us don't want to see played at Palace! If you want to lump it up to a big target man to either get on the end of it or hold it up (both of which he doesn't appear to do very well) then play him by all means! I for one don't want to watch Palace playing like that and I think i speak for a lot of people here too! Except Tommy of course - but then what do you expect from a deaf, dumn and blind KID!
