The chancellor, Sajid Javid, was not informed in advance about the sacking of one of his senior advisers by Boris Johnson’s strategist Dominic Cummings, it has emerged. Sonia Khan, Javid’s media adviser, was escorted from No 10 by a police officer after being accused of misleading Cummings over her contact with individuals close to the former chancellor Philip Hammond, who has been trying to block a no-deal Brexit. Cummings ruling Johnston, even has the police and as we have seen this week the monarchy. What democracy does he think he is suspending? You have not taken your medication today have you?

The 2016 referendum was a load of old cobblers and everybody knows it. Did anyone have any knowledge of the Good Friday Agreement and subsequent law, no they didnt, or anything else except their own selfish prejudices against 'Johnny Foreigner'. The quite dreadful withdrawal agreement, worse than remaining in the EU, complies with the Good Friday Agreement/referendum, it is legal. Leaving with no-deal is obviously not, we can only imagine what may happen. Tbh the EU should have booted the UK out.
Pity they did not as it would have saved all this trouble we are going through now.

Why didnt they then? Really did expect Macron to veto the extension, the EU cannot move on otherwise, the UK still has a veto and is really only there to be a complete pain in the arse. The EU has trading deals coming out of its ears, if the UK wants a trade deal they can try for one but it is not desperate. Revoking is the only power left to the UK, the EU cannot legally refuse. Why are they still just about at the table, well they will be aware that remain is polling stronger than leave but it is disjointed.

MPS are not elected to represent Parties. They are elected to represent constituencies and ALL t heir constituents. For the umpteenth time we don't send delegates to Parliament. We send representatives. so those MPs whos constituencies voted out should therefore respect that vote? If they truly represent their constituents? Sour Soubry and many others are not doing so, the woman is a lying bitch who should be voted out at the next election

Steely you must be one of only few in the country who was actually surprised that Macron didn't veto the extension. What else are you surprised about? The sun coming up in the morning perhaps? Did Epstein's 'suicide' make you fall out of bed? Edited by Stirlingsays (30 Aug 2019 3.39pm)

Its definitely a sad state of affairs but the genie has escaped the bottle, the horse has bolted etc etc... Remaining now would be like slagging off your ex for 3 years after telling them you want a divorce, and then expecting them to have you back and everything be hunkydory.... The best thing for us all, now and in the long term is to pry the kids fingers from their comfort blanket before moving forward...only then can the healing start.

It doesn't get mentioned much but if we leave without a deal we can always do one post Brexit if the EU are prepared to negotiate. That is something they have to consider assuming they want one. Would it be better for the EU to do a deal now when Johnson is relatively weak because of his parliamentary majority or wait and hope that Corbyn wins the next GE? Of course if Johnson wins the next GE with a good majority the EU might regret not offering concessions now as his hand will be strengthened. Germany is about to go into recession as are many of the other EU countries and yes possibly the UK. The EU politicians may not want a deal but I would have thought that as we are a good market for many EU countries their businesses might want one.
