Absolutely this! So true, please will Roy detractors take off their rose tinted glasses and smell the coffee and any other clichés that I can't think of.

If you keep telling someone they are not good enough they will believe they are not good enough. He is basically telling the team that it is ok to lose lots of games on the bounce as long they scrape enough points to stay up. I really like Roy and I won’t be annoyed if he stays on for another year or maybe 2 but I do think it’s time for someone new, but that someone new has to be better than Roy which is why I think Roy could be here a bit longer.

You think we need it now. There is little point in us conversing because you don’t agree with anything I say and I don’t agree with anything you say. We are pretty much polar opposites when it comes to our manager.

I love Sundays especially after winning on the Saturday, I know that has been as rare as rocking horse s*** lately! So my question is “ whilst Palace were stringing 8 passes together which eventually ended up in the back of the Wolves net, were wishing us not to score, as I want to see Roy get the bullet” ? Come on you miserable gits you can come out now, there’s nothing to be frightened of we are all HOL family on here. Come on slag me off for being a know -all ...... The interview provided in the link encapsulates much of the problem with Hodgson. There’s a saying that it’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they’ve been fooled, and seems often to be the case with Hodgson’s pronouncements.

I don't really disagree with what he is saying about going a few games without a win hear and there. The fact is it's no just 4 games we've been poor over. We've beaten 1 team from outside the bottom 3 since then 3rd game of the season. Including a two disgraceful performances in the cups. So what he's saying is a tad of an understatement, I won't deny him a bit of spin, but some of the claims he's made in his post match comments have been far from the truth. In fairness, the main reason I wanted him sacked immediately is that he had been insistent on playing to wrong system for 36 games last season and 20 this year. The performance was a bit dull, but I'll take that. The midfield pair may have been a little cautious in their passing, but they were stringing passes together. If he sets the team up like he did yesterday going forward I will join the camp of people saying, at least he's only here until the end of the season - unless we get an opportunity to poach a better manager.

He is actually talking alot of sense about our runs of defeated and undefeated considering what is spent and the ageing squad . We would all like to finish in the top 4 every year but we have to be realistic . also he has a fine head of hair .

When he took over, the club was in a f***ing mess. The club had accrued huge debt and massive wages. We had just paid a manager 3 years salary for 10 weeks work and started the season losing four games in a row. Nevertheless, Roy has kept us competitive and despite limited funding, the club is in much better shape. We have had the odd mini scare but we have been comfortably safe throughout his tenure. He could of walked, but just gets on with it. I mean what other manager would accept a rb being sold for 50m but then not replaced. I mean, scandalous. We have 13-14 players out of contract (not Roy’s fault), yet Roy is tasked with motivating these players to keep them in the league. Of all the 20 prem teams, it has to be one of the least attractive jobs. If there is just 10-15m made available in summer, what do we expect. How can anyone realistically see us pushing on when we are doing the bare minimum, Apart from Eze, our transfer strategy is ‘mainly’ to buy washed up players on the cheap (or free) with the ‘last chance you’ philosophy. Some do well, some not so well. For me, it’s stick with Roy. Enjoy the premier league until fans can come back in and hope the Americans sell up soon. Totally agree Roy is being made a scapegoat. Sacking Roy will change virtually nothing. No new stand, no youthful energetic team, no cast iron defence. We are all desperate for improvement and for this club to become a Premier League team. We want a strategy and a plan to get us out of this mess. By all means change the manager at the end of the season but PLEASE Crystal Palace do your due diligence now. Decide how you want the team to play, generate a war chest, recruit the right man give him a whole Summer to prepare and get the players he wants.

He knew what he was signing up for for when he signed the contract extension, nobody was twisting his arm.

It was a gutsy 1-0. It makes it far more likely we won't get dragged into the relegation zone. However, it doesn't suddenly mean Roy is great, or the team. We've had abject defeat after abject defeat for a while. Hopefully the rot has stopped, but it doesn't address our basic issues. Not even the issues that exist with Roy, which have now been discussed at length. I think even the most ardent Roy supporters will not want him here next season. I don't: he's done a job, fair play to him, but we still need a shake up.

There are many that want Roy gone now, which doesn’t make sense at all. We don’t need many wins now to be safe and I bet you see a different Palace in the Spring...
