We get Dyche, Southampton get Pellegrino - that looks the likeliest scenario to me ... I don't know much about Schmidt, isn't he ex-Bayern Leverkeusen, there was some money dispute - it looks unlikely, we'd be a step down before a step up to a bigger club in the prem, but the smoke signals say he'll be interviewed and his odds will shrink if and when that happens - Dyche is decent, but he's unproven in terms of tactical flexibility with a more talented squad, it's been more silk purses out of sow's ears, especially in his Watford days - he might bring consistency, but you wouldn't be any more surprised if he turned out not to fit with the squad and be a failure than if he got them working hard and together and became a success. It's a solid choice though - his record at Burnley is outstanding, far more pros than cons.

Can't we do 28 day trial or your money back on dyche so if he's crap we can return him to Burnley and automatically get pellergrino

A man with one win away from home all last season.....us! If it is him no doubt given the extraordinary length of time it has taken to arrive at the decision SP has factored this in and there is a perfectly good reason why this stat was created and he s convinced that this won't be replicated with us. Yep, our home form was awful last season. If he can turn it around next season we will have a solid basis. We have the personnel to win away. Solid appointment if it does occur. Him and Howe looked the best British managers last season. We can't get the latter, seems keen to move here and work with the team, players work hard for him, understands the PL and can't see him preening around the place or attempting to bankrupt the club with signings. Also rather have a considered appointment than a rush job.

They're under contract to another premier league club ! Even if he does come, they won't. Why would they? Burnley are a selling club. M.keane already set to leave this summer. Dyche knows that the finances are not at Burnley. Heaton available at 10m. Which is affordable for us. Who desperately need a goalie.

Been seeing the antipathy against a Dyche appointment. Maybe supporters are thinking that Burnley have finished below us the last 2 seasons and of course were relegated the season before last, hence they are hardly excited by the prospect of his appointment. Incidentally it would require agreed compensation/permission to speak to him etc etc

Will be happy with either Pellegrino or Dyche to be honest. Pellegrino would be the more exciting appointment but Dyche most certainly the safest. Personally I feel Dyche is a little underestimated by some. Think he would fit Palace nicely.

I still think we will go foreign this time think we should have a continental style to our play with some new ideas and a fresh face would make a change but dyce would be good but will he be here if he does well and the top 6 come calling doubt it would like a foreign in charge

There will be supporters who will have looked at Steve's comments about the criteria for a neww manager IE Long-term, not a "Stepping stone" and other comments. Based on these, one suspects many will conclude that Dyche ticks these boxes rather than some of the others mentioned on here.

Let me put it straight forward... We're for the 5th consecutive year in Premier League, we've got potential beyond this year 14th place and to be one of the 10 bests teams in the country, we talk about the future and a refurbished Selhurst and in the end it comes to Dyche!!!??? Something is completely wrong with this logical. There's a real opportunity to raise the bar and we go back to the old logics and expecting to have different results???
