I don't know about a Tory with IRA connections but on the surface any Tory who supports Irish republicanism should be thrown out of the party.

If they did they'd surely keep it quiet considering the Brighton Grand a Hotel bombing.

Yep, most definitely.

I should add that I don't consider the idea that someone might wish for a united Ireland as being an unacceptable belief. But what I do consider as unacceptable is the supporting of the IRA or violence as the conduit by which it is achieved.

However the sad reality is that violence did achieve a huge amount for Irish republicanism. They were essentially bought of with the Danegeld that was power.

The long game is theirs with demographic change.

The 'no surrender' turned into 'surrender' but with warm words and creating equivalencies was one of the means of doing that.

I would normally agree but this is happening too often.

Also, generally speaking, just because the public doesn't like an issue doesn't automatically make it wrong

They shouldn't be getting it so wrong in the first place. They are out of touch and have zero confidence in them leading the country through the extremely choppy waters ahead. A bunch of League 1 politicians to be sure.

Well they did have a cosy relationship with Ulster Unionists in Parliment, who also didn't condemn loyalist terrorism. I see little difference between Paisley and Adams, truth told.

The DUP's relationship with the UDA, UVF and UFF is pretty much the same as Sinn Fein and the IRA.

Kermy don't you have an 'irony' Geiger counter that starts going crazy when you type out stuff like this?

Surely they're just seeing what works and what doesnt...god forbid politicians 'listening' and then reacting rather than forcing stuff through like they used to...
