So, what exactly was it for you? BTW, I'm not accusing you or any Brexiteer of racism. I see the benefits of of both in and out, but, imo, taking back control to me doesn't seem like a valid argument.

What will we be in control of?
Will Boris or whoever the new PM is offer a more democratic, inclusive approach to the way our country is governed?

Our Economy will tank in the next year or so, but not because we left the EU, it will tank because the actual politicians we are entrusting to deliver Brexit are the actual people that have already destroyed this economy.

The context of taking back control for some is increasing EU Federalism.

Great stuff.

The remainers that go round protesting, waving EU flags and saying that this is the death of democracy need to realise that to an impartial observer the come across as just as deluded and clueless about the workings of the EU as the UKIPPERs used too.

I'm still trying to figure out the full implications of today's announcement.... they've jumped straight to claiming it's the death of democracy. I hardly see how limiting the number of people that can make a mess out of things for a few days will have a big impact. Especially when most MPs are selected by a handful of granys at their local political club

Oh like most things it'll be bad for some and good for some.

Most won't be affected that much as most businesses don't trade with the EU....we will no doubt have temporary adjustments in the markets....plenty will be more pleased or offended by the general political direction but how much are things really going to change?.....Still the really invested will will go absolutely ape.....which is something i suppose.

Perhaps most businesses don't as many are tiny, but larger employers often will. Your logic is dubious.

Reported to police?....David Lammy is guilty of reducing contributions to charity with his utter drivel.

Who is to say how many children went without for that.

The face of Labour.

No, that is not what was reported to Police

It's because you want Farage as the new State Governor of England. And coincidentally that is also what he has agreed with Trump, so that's all good.

Ah yes, I was hoping for that. That's why I voted for Brexit. Because I knew that Trump, who wasn't President at the time, would make it possible.

Christ on a bike, you people.

6 percent of British businesses export to the EU....according to leave....the remain campaign actually had a lower figure.

My logic is factual.

As for multinationals, and larger companies....Brexit will have even lesser affect for them as they have the most ability to adjust.

Ian Dale has just explained that Parliament doesn't sit mid Sept - mid Oct and hasn't for many years. It all gets technical as some of it is called recess and some prorogation, the bottom line is that Parliament doesn't sit. All Johnson has done is extend this period by about 3-4 days from the normal time.

He also pointed out that this session of Parliament is the longest for 400 years and we are overdue a Queen's speech.

Much ado about nothing.

True, but as of 2018 there were 5.7m british businesses. 96% had less than 9 employees, and 99.9% had less than 250.

Making the 6% stat pretty meaningless.

Are you being wilful or simply thick tonight?

In 2018 there were 5.4 million microbusinesses in the UK, accounting for 96% of all businesses. Although the vast majority of businesses in the UK employ fewer than 10 people, this sort of business only accounts for 33% of employment and 21% of turnover.

There are 8,000 large businesses, with more than 250 employees, accounting for 0.1% of businesses but 40% of employment and 48% of turnover.

Many people will be affected as their employers are hit by Brexit based issues.

You seem to have delusions of grandeur. Who appointed you the spokesperson for "the majority".

Anyone applauding Johnson's actions in closing down parliamentary debate need to answer the question if they would feel the same if Corbyn was PM and he wanted to force through a policy as controversial as this one.

When the referendum was held nobody was voting on leaving the EU without an agreement. Quite the opposite in fact. We were told a deal would be easy to achieve and we could have the Norway option if we wanted. The only question was in principle whether we wanted to stay or go and Johnson and Farage are re-writing history about what they said at the time.
