Roy out. It’s time. Forget all the arguments either way, now or the end of this season is the time for change.
I don’t really care whether we are comfortable or struggling, it’s still time for the old boy to depart.

This is a premier league club that needs to move forward to the next era and that requires a new manager and we need it now.

You think we need it now.

Perhaps we should give Roy a five year deal after all for fear of losing him -
if the only alternative is to become like Bolton, Charlton or Portsmouth.
Quite a big if though.

So who stepped up to the next level? I'll narrow it down to 'since the Premier League began'. Even though FFP and other restrictions have been implemented since.

It's blatantly obvious that Pulis's achievement is greater than Hodgson's - he didn't have Wilf, and it has been acknowledged on here that without him we'd be toast, an opinion backed up by stats - when Wilf doesn't play we do less well.
I think Hodgson did exceptionally well in his first season, and credit where credit is due, has kept us up on a budget. That said I think the club in its current guise has run its course, and change is upon us, unless of course Parish is satisfied with diminishing returns - 11th / 12th / 14th - and this season?
I guess it depends on what results Hodgson grinds out for the rest of the season and what Parish has in mind for next season.

It has nothing to do with Wilf people need to stop repeating this garbage.

We can work fine without him the problem is we have a rigid system which is focused on one method Eze already is a much better player then Wilf.

Those so called stats are meaningless look at all the games we lost with him playing yet no one mentions this and how lazy he is now his assists and goals for a so called top player are laughable plus his constant losing his rag like a child top players don't do this.

Had Roy been given unlimited resources it wouldn't matter the same old football would still be played and he has no interest in transfers himself (Our club still reeks of amateurs setup, SP himself is like an iffy used cars sales man)

SP has made way more then he ever put into the club so for him staying in the league is a positive but a time will come that unless something changes we could be in trouble just think all those players out of contract this year if they all walked for nothing that is almost half the squad gone.

I do like Roy but he is now not the right guy AP did more for this club then he has done in the background.

I doubt there is anyone who thinks Roy should be in charge next season. He should see out this season and there should be a process already in place for a successor. I hope its not one of the usual suspects - Moyes, Howe, Dyche and definitely not serial loser Silva. But Roy has done a great job overall and should be thanked. Its just time to go at the end of the season.
And I will take the 3 points today.

I can think of at least two people who might think he should (besides a fair number of posters on this site who no doubt can speak for themselves) - Hodgson himself and Steve Parish. Why Parish?
Because Hodgson simply gets on with the job with the players he's given and keeps the team up with minimal signings. I suspect that once we are safe or nearly safe Parish will offer Hodgson another year. This will continue until the existing U18s are developed sufficiently for one or more of them to be ready for the first team. Either that or until:
1. Hodgson feels he can no loner do the job or
2. the US owners sell out and we have new owners who are willing to invest but will want a different manager.

May I suggest Man City by reason of oodles of money and Leicester City.

For me it's not a question of stepping up to the 'next level.'
For me our form over the last year have not been good enough in terms of results or performances.
I accept the fact that for many fans it's still enough to merely stay up.
I just happen to have a different opinion.
We have shown on occasions that we are capable of playing decent football without it meaning heavy defeats.
It's not as if boring football is getting us great results.
Parish has often stated that he knows no reason why we should not be on a level footing with clubs outside of the big 6.
Aspiration is good as long as it's realistic.
The real crime is to aim low and miss.

Yep. But on this thread, it will be seen as negative. Ergo, "Roy out". Only a win is not enough now. We need to be winning easily. These teams are "for the taking".

We are in the best league in the world, you do realise this don't you. Mr Hodgson got us out of a mess and he is still getting our squad out of a mess, you seem to fail to understand the issues facing our club at the moment.

Unless the US investors or SP are going to set aside significant investment, I would prefer we stayed with Roy.

I feel Roy is the scapegoat for everything behind the scenes.

When he took over, the club was in a f***ing mess. The club had accrued huge debt and massive wages. We had just paid a manager 3 years salary for 10 weeks work and started the season losing four games in a row.

Nevertheless, Roy has kept us competitive and despite limited funding, the club is in much better shape. We have had the odd mini scare but we have been comfortably safe throughout his tenure.

He could of walked, but just gets on with it. I mean what other manager would accept a rb being sold for 50m but then not replaced. I mean, scandalous.

We have 13-14 players out of contract (not Roy’s fault), yet Roy is tasked with motivating these players to keep them in the league.

Of all the 20 prem teams, it has to be one of the least attractive jobs. If there is just 10-15m made available in summer, what do we expect.

How can anyone realistically see us pushing on when we are doing the bare minimum,

Apart from Eze, our transfer strategy is ‘mainly’ to buy washed up players on the cheap (or free) with the ‘last chance you’ philosophy. Some do well, some not so well.

For me, it’s stick with Roy. Enjoy the premier league until fans can come back in and hope the Americans sell up soon.
