The reason for the odds shortening so dramatically is '......extraordinary betting patterns.....' according to a Paddy Power spokesperson in The Sun. No mention of any extra info coming out of the club. Could be another red herring........

We get Dyche, Southampton get Pellegrino - that looks the likeliest scenario to me ... I don't know much about Schmidt, isn't he ex-Bayern Leverkeusen, there was some money dispute - it looks unlikely, we'd be a step down before a step up to a bigger club in the prem, but the smoke signals say he'll be interviewed and his odds will shrink if and when that happens - Dyche is decent, but he's unproven in terms of tactical flexibility with a more talented squad, it's been more silk purses out of sow's ears, especially in his Watford days - he might bring consistency, but you wouldn't be any more surprised if he turned out not to fit with the squad and be a failure than if he got them working hard and together and became a success. It's a solid choice though - his record at Burnley is outstanding, far more pros than cons.

IMHO Dyche is a good appointment - better than alot of touted alternatives - but isn't a left field, inspirational appointment.
