There were mentions of the predicted peak being around Easter so perhaps some have drawn the conclusion that this is when the 'Lockdown' would be reviewed. Any easing of restrictions will be determined by the peak being reached and a 'Flattening' of that curve and I believe that at this stage it is a bit too premature to conclude when this might occur. I just have the feeling that we will continue in 'Lockdown' for another 3 weeks at the earliest but this is pure conjecture. Unless I am misreading things it seems that the emergency provisions have all been put in place for 90 days from the 27th of March, the date the "Coronavirus Act" became law. Reviewing "instructions" etc was promised after 3 weeks but it seems highly unlikely to me that anything other than minor adjustments will be made before the 90 period is up, and then only selectively, slowly and possibly regionally. Talk of when the lockdown will end will obviously be on everyone's mind and endlessly discussed by the talking heads, primarily to keep people's spirits up and a sense of optimism for the future.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

What has an eighties pop group got to do with it?

Yes, Sneezing and coughing allows droplets to float in the air and then land on surfaces, if they land in our mouths, nose, eyes and even ears we are in big trouble, using hands to touch the surfaces where an infected person has sneezed or coughed near or even just wiped their eyes and then touched is as bad for the period this virus is able to survive out of the host ..the amount of time is still very debatable and while it is is going to really determine how we relax and tackle this problem moving forward. We should all be wearing masks at least. True it wont stop the droplets but might remind you not to touch if you go to wipe your nose or mouth.

These were Boris Johnson'swords when announcing the lockdown "And I can assure you that we will keep these restrictions under constant review. We will look again in three weeks , and relax them if the evidence shows we are able to." quote=Willo;3521962] Personally I have never heard any mention of a review at the "3 week date", I did hear Boris Johnson assert that the 'Lockdown' would be reviewed on a "Month by month basis".

We should all be wearing masks at least. This was not a recommendation advanced by Professor Jonathan Van-Tam, Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England in one of the daily briefings. He said he does not believe healthy people wearing them would reduce the spread of the disease in the UK, saying "what matters now is social distancing".

Thank You.I never heard this mentioned. It is patently clear that there will be no relaxation at all at the "3 week date".

The second we relax and allow people to go out could result in people becoming infected because we basically have no idea who is carrying it or not (only testing the sick in hospital) do we even know if people who are immune now and have been for many weeks are still able to carry this virus and spread it through touch from someone they have just been with who are infected? ..my guess is yes they are because that seems to me quite obvious ..so how do we ever relax and how do we do the relaxing? ..and than with this the police force will be even more tough won't they ...resulting in even more backlash from the public!

Expect end of June. Could be lucky (or unlucky) and be end of May/start of June.
