Well he is a pacifist when it would be in the interests of Britain to have to use force. But he is a sympathiser of terrorists when their cause is seen by him as anti-Uk or anti-American 'imperialism'. I was rather hoping for a sensible answer.

I was rather hoping for a sensible answer. Nope, he's exactly right. The IRA were still murdering our soldiers when he was refusing to condemn them but would condemn the actions of British security forces. Corbyn is a terrible representative for the British state.

I was rather hoping for a sensible answer. In 1984, when questioned as to his motives for hosting two convicted IRA terrorists to tea in the House of Commons two weeks after the IRA Brighton attack, Corbyn said he was "a campaigner against imperialism in Ireland".

I've heard Corbyn back then giving interviews where he refusing to condemn IRA attacks yet slags off state operations. Again....the far left are willing to say copper is gold....they think they are better but in reality they are no better than the Daily Mail.

How? I don't see it. May is going to win. It's a meter of by how many. How does that equate to 'changing of the guard'. Both party's manifestos have broken with the mainstream of their party. Labour's is their most progressive for decades, while the Tories is breakingits pact with pensioners and neoliberalism, something implicit in conservatism since Thatcher. The 'centre ground' of the past decade is now not represented in british politics. As for the inevitability, the lead has narrowed from 23 to 9 points. All bets are off for the next 3 weeks. Incredible.l

Incredible.l I disagree and think what we are seeing is the Tories facing up to the reality of an ageing population, a matter successive governments have failed to address, Corbyn looking to shore up his support in the party by issuing a 'radical' manifesto and Labours support moving back to its traditional core of 30%. The hubris of the first few weeks polls for May were just hubris and I stick to my prediction, made at the time of the calling of the GE, that the Tories majority would be a maximum 30 seats. The campaign will really get going from next week and if you think that is good for Corbyn, then you will be mistaken.

They just look so, so weak. It's f*cking hilarous Whereas Jezza has covered himself in glory this weekend with the whole IRA thing and McDonnell & Abbott look like elder statespeople you could depend your mortgage & pension on? Come off it. You know what is going to happen when people get to the point of voting. It doesn't mean that Hammond is an intellectual or economic giant but, in the eyes of the average voter, he is a safer pair of hands than McDonnell. And therein, lies the major challenge for labour.
