What is 'Whiteness'? I have no idea what people are referring to? Talking about 'whiteness' being under attack. What is 'whiteness' and how is it under attack? I am White, do I have 'whiteness' and is is my 'whiteness' under attack? Serious question I have no idea what is being referred to? Exactly. It isn’t even a thing. Yet people seem to think they and everything they stand for are under attack because people are highlighting the plight of people that might not look exactly like them.

Anyone seeing it as an ‘attack on whiteness’ is so utterly insecure in their own skin that almost all you can do is feel pity for them having to live their lives like that. You might pity them Dan and you've identified they are insecure, but you're making no effort to understand why they harbour those views. They just get branded as stupid, racist or both (which may be true or partly true). Although, in the vast majority of cases I simply don't believe that's the root cause of most peoples annoyance.

OK, more accurately it is something not easily defined and probably means something different to each different person.

Sorry Spider you can't use that term I'm afraid. Add this to the litany of bulls*** that's already out.

Right OK, so is it just a reference to 'White culture'. If so, then I get it, I just think using the word 'whiteness' is a travesty of language. If not, I'm not gonna bother investigating any further. Can see how it might be thrown around in the USA to an extent, different set of circumstances for the people there, don't see how it applies to the UK though. The UK is a majority white country and we can all argue about the origins of man but it has been so for however many centuries or further. The whole point of a societal culture is that it evolves by serving the needs of the majority.

Well said. Christianity, along with all other religions other than Islam and those of no faith are subject to persecution both in the law and from Islamists. Have a look at what the violence and what goes on against Christians in pakistan. In law a non Muslim can't be a federal judge, can't be president, can't be prime minister. Non Muslims can be subject to forced conversions. (pasted from Wikipedia)

That turning up when you say you will turn up, or expecting others, especially people of colour, to do likewise is a white cultural expectation.

You do realise 'Whiteness' isn't being described as positive in these programs and academic courses. I don't really have an issue with it as such. It's good to know who hates or dislikes you. I understand that race is a large part of how the real world works outside of the liberal mindset and legal system. What I have an issue with are the double standards from people who profess to hate racism. The truth is that they hate anybody to doesn't agree with their definition of racism, because it's not colour blind....it's their take on it.

In the UK? Here's presuming he pays tax in the UK like everyone else has to. I would have thought 'most influential black person in [insert tax haven]' would be more apt.
