Well fair play to you for coming onto the thread. But it's already been said that there will be no more indictments. What you are talking about is the desperate meowings of democratic party activists and mainstream media who are trying to cover for the fact that they have been lying to their supporters for years now. All of Trump's team and dealings have been poured over massively....Yet with Clinton it was a complete joke. The left and the media, who are losing even more credibility will look for anything...of that I have little doubt. They will look for anything they can possibly make more media about and talk up...but it will result in no more convictions....and nothing over collusion. They lied.....Politicians, activists and media lied....imagine my shock. Edited by Stirlingsays (25 Mar 2019 9.59am) In the mueller probe, that is true. As for the SDNY, they seem fairly intent on nailing the traitor in chief to the wall. Every aspect of Trumps crooked life is being investigated, and they won’t stop. He will be impeached, but will beat it. Republicans have come this far, sold out conservative principles, consigned Reaganism utterly to the scrap heap, given up their morals completely, so they are all in on trump now. The Sanford effect has invertebrates like McConnell and Graham afraid for their cushy jobs. He also has to contend with the campaign finance violations - you remember that one, that was where he paid off a p*** star he had an affair with while his wife was at home with a new baby. Great example to the kids, no? All this and he still has time to disparage a recently deceased war hero who spent 5 years as a POW being tortured, while trump dodged the draft will bone spurs. I wonder where Trump’s wall is, that Mexico was going to pay for, to keep all the brown skinned folks out, and all the middle eastern terrorists crossing the southern border. I was in El Paso last week, there is no national emergency there. Trump may try another shutdown, but will have to cave in like an inexperienced political rookie after once again being played by Nancy. Pelosi vs Trump is even more unfair that expecting him to pit his wits against the ex head of the KGB. No wonder he bent over in Helsinki, Putin was a bloody spy chief for crying out loud. It’s simply not a fair fight. Edited by Maine Eagle (26 Mar 2019 4.33am)

You fail to mention Obama's foreign policy achievements. Did you actually bother to read behind the headlines of your links? I suggest that you do before drawing any more conclusions. You are just indulging in confirmation bias. I didn't claim that Obama care was universally popular. The alt right and their pawns hate it. Obama recognised the need for international cooperation on climate change and was moving the country towards accepting that change was needed. This isn't easy in the USA but he started. Trump has just abandoned it purely for political reasons, leaving future generations around the world to a much worse future.

They are the ones who count not European watchers on the sideiines. There are plenty of facts that support those who hate what Trump is doing. You have only to listen to him and read his tweets to know them. I don't hate Trump, I pity him for he is pretty clearly for me a disturbed man. What I hate is a system that allows such a person to reach the level of POTUS and the standards and motivations of those who put him there.

The Sanford effect has invertebrates like McConnell and Graham afraid for their cushy jobs. I don't know if you took note or not but Trump wasn't popular in the Republican party. Much like Corbyn his power based was almost entirely built upon popular support from the actual voters. The republicans had a choice, much like the Labour Mps did.....Work with the new guy or get out. Much the same thing has happened. Originally posted by Maine Eagle
He also has to contend with the campaign finance violations - you remember that one, that was where he paid off a p*** star he had an affair with while his wife was at home with a new baby. Great example to the kids, no? I don't care, I didn't care when Clinton was getting blow jobs in the White House and I don't care who Trump f***s....that's between him and his wife. The President is there to appear to run the economy and present laws to the house....all the rest is media invented BS. In terms of this practice of the opposing party using any means necessary to obstruct (outside of voting on his laws) the president....unless it's for something serious I don't support it. Again, I didn't support it with Democrat presidents either. I regard 'campaign violations' as ridiculous as that's in every campaign by every candidate ever. Impeachment is something they all look to do now with all presidents. I don't support it. Anyone who thinks it's legitimate to remove a president who was elected legally by the US system is playing on very dangerous ground. It needs to be very serious and nothing I've seen is anything close to it. Originally posted by Maine Eagle

Clinton dodged the draft and for me while this does say something it is hardly that relevant now. Originally posted by Maine Eagle

I was in El Paso last week, there is no national emergency there. 'Brown skinned folks' or whatever non American folks have no right to enter the US. Trump is perfectly within his rights to enact the policies that his base voted him in on. The stuff about Mexico paying was just campaign BS. He's just transferred the first billion to military engineers to start new wall sections. Originally posted by Maine Eagle

The economy is going well and the wall is actually pretty popular so we will see with the next election. Like most things the economy will be the biggest determinate.

Obviously I'm from a different political ground but yes, it's good to see the current left represented on the boards and Maine seems like a good candidate. I look forward to lots of good debates....though Maple was already doing a fine job as the only regular sensible voice...if more a neo liberal one. You of course are a traditional Tory. Have just been looking at the wall online and it looks pretty crap. There is nowhere to chalk in the cricket stumps. It is a folly, the american version of the maginot line. The enemy, whoever they are, will simply go round it by using another method.

I agree it's largely symbolic. It just slows down the process. Edited by Stirlingsays (26 Mar 2019 10.59am)

We will see how effective it is when it is built. One thing is clear. America cannot continue to allow illegal Mexican immigrants to flood into the country. And the wall was proposed a long time before Trump was around. The idea that he proposed it is just another lie. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (26 Mar 2019 11.13am)
