I do not use Twitter so have no idea as to what comments have been made. I do not see it as an attack on my “whiteness” but am firmly in the camp that it should be proportionate and adverts/period dramas are taking it too far.
My sons girlfriend is a very talented singer and was asked to attend an audition for Miss Saigon, unfortunately despite having the perfect voice for the specific role she could not be considered as she was not of Oriental appearance and they could not make her up to look so. Fair enough in this day and age, however other parts she has attended for have been given to BAME females, although parts would have been originally written for a white female ( due to period it was set), so you could argue she has been discriminated against but she just accepts it as part and parcel of the industry. Possibly an extreme example but Should be best person for the job/role imo, as it should be in any walk of life

Apparently there are 3. I’ve seen another scouse one so I can’t relate to that lol. If they were to ‘communicate’ to all races there will have to be more than 3, unless they’ve fallen into this new categorising of white, black, brown people which is as annoying as BAME. Eventually when the references of ‘coloured’ to the 1960’s in USA and Britain are forgotten in 100 years it’ll be back to coloured again for these meddling maniac wokies. If the person’s ethnicity has to be described then just describe it.

I'll take a guess that you haven't been to Glasgow in the last few decades? It's getting better, but doesn't have anywhere near the levels of investment and opportunity London has.

The difference is that services in Glasgow are less likely to have to deal with race politics, except sectarian issues, which are harder to spot. It's a lot easier to stop knife crime if the police don't have to deal with spurious accusations of racism every time they intervene.

This isn't really about colour of skin. Those who use this argument are self-defeating. This is about people who inherit class and monies, and are products of the public school system.
And it exists in the USA as it does in the UK
