Get alves to 9th is a good achievement but take out the top 3 or 4 sides. The la liga is quite a poor league for competitiveness.

Schmidt, Galtier, Pelegrino and Dyche is a pretty stellar short list. Any one of these would be a good appointment

I wouldn't go so far but it's promising...
Dyche it's absolutely unnecessary!

I wouldn't describe Dyche as an "exciting name"; quite the opposite in fact.

I would say he is a safe pair of hands and is likely to be able to establish Palace as a mid table club. That would do for me!

Quite possibly, if he can adapt to a different playing style and figure out why his away record is so horrendous. But "exciting"? I think not.

I agree, personally I would prefer Galtier

My preference in order

1) Schmidt
2) Pellegrino
3) Galtier
4) Dyche
534) Hodgson
1,000,001) Pardew

To be fair Pardew would have been lower but I couldnt think up enough names of managers

As I've said previously, Dyche is a decent manager who's done well with limited resources at Burnley, but rather like Pardew's home record, his away record will relegate him if he can't address it. My concern is that he's rather like Howe, a good fit at one club, but may not be able to operate successfully elsewhere.

The link doesn't say he's waiting for the Southampton job. The link says Southampton would be wise to interview him should they change managers.

Not sure what if anything the link says he has done wrong for us not to be interested in him.

can't they just fak off - we found him first

Southampton have not sacked Puel yet and aren't going to, apparently, until they've found a replacement. If they do sack Puel before we make our appointment Puel will presumably go on our list.

Poor Puel.
Death by a thousand cuts.
A manager who took Southampton the the 'League Cup' final and to 8th in the PL which is no mean feat.
