I listen to Theo Usherwood on LBC he talks a lot of sense and is a good political commentator. This morning his view was this. 1. Yesterday's defeat for the Tories was better than expected. The damaged MP was allowed to be the Tory candidate because May didn't believe they could win so why waste a good candidate. Another bad decision. On the Remain side the minor parties did a deal with the Lib Dems to allow then a free run at he Tories whilst the Brexit party took 10% of the vote which would have seen the Tories win. So yes a good day for Remain but the Boris bounce is still there. Meanwhile no one is talking about Labour almost losing their deposit in Wales, Wales for god's sake. So what happens now? Normally Corbyn would call a vote of no confidence and with several Tory MPs threatening to quit the party he could win. However it is now too late to hold a GE before 31 October so if one was called now that he would be blamed by the Remainers for allowing Brexit by default. The feeling is that Corbyn will not call for a no confidence vote until after Brexit when he can say to the electorate look at the mess we're in and I am the man to clean it up.

Sure, I’d be open to that - not sure why it’s relevant, but ok. You didn’t answer how your can-do attitude would solve the current deadlock. An ecconomy is pretty much run on confidence, if we do have a dead lock the pussy remoaners are the first to wet them selves and like the nerd at the front of class "it was his fault" You lot are such a bunch of pussies , honestly. What if the EU have just as much of a can-do attitude as us? What do we do then?

If we haven't a can do attitude and quit whilst the EU do have a can do attitude then we are royally fxxxxx. If how however we get together give it a go it won't be half as bad as your half glass empty theory. Surely people recognise this?

No sorry, it’s nonsense - get together and give it a go is not a plan nor a solution, and it’s exactly the sort of empty rhetoric which has lead to this position to begin with.

Still all to play for. Tbf that is part of Wales where Labour don't normally do well. Farming communities etc. However the latest polls down here should worry the Labour hierarchy. IMO Corbyn should go. Edited by johnno42000 (02 Aug 2019 6.18pm)

I don't think for one minute he was suggesting any kind of plan, merely making a point about attitude of mind. There were some good things to come from our time in the EU, and there were some bad. In the same way there will be both good and bad to come from Brexit. We have overcome all kind of European monstrosities in the past, Hitler, The IRA and Abba. We can deal with Brexit. The future is ours to wright my friend, and I for one am excited.

Edited by johnno42000 (02 Aug 2019 6.18pm) You beat me to it. I’m in Brecon right now. Not a strong Labour vote here. Historically Liberal Democrat but recently Tory. Clear tactical voting to reduce the Labour vote but it’s unlikely ever to take this seat in any case. There is some sympathy for Chris Davies as he didn’t gain from his bit of forgery. It was just about balancing budgets. He would have got in if the Brexit Party had stood aside. Des Parkinson is not well regarded here. The idea May left him in place as she had given up is risible. Boris’s walkabout didn’t help as he didn’t walk about, leaving queues of people disappointed.
